Transport for NSW is the lead agency of the NSW Transport cluster. Our role is to lead the development of a safe, efficient, integrated transport system that keeps people and goods moving, connects communities and shapes the future of our cities, centres and regions.
We are responsible for strategy, planning, policy, regulation, funding allocation and other non-service delivery functions for all modes of transport in NSW including road, rail, ferry, light rail, point to point, regional air, cycling and walking.
We focus on improving the customer experience and contract public and private operators to deliver customer-focused transport services on our behalf.
We also lead the procurement of transport infrastructure and oversee delivery through project delivery offices and industry delivery partners.

The opportunity
We have a number of exciting opportunities for Senior Manager Bus Contracts to manage the service contracts for the delivery of bus services across the Sydney Metropolitan area. These roles will give you the opportunity to build a true partnership with operators and stakeholders, and ensure the delivery of an integrated, safe, reliable and customer focused bus service.
Reporting to the Director Service Delivery, you will have the opportunity to be involved in:
- Managing the facilitation of the seamless transition of bus contracts between operators, and leading the planning for the commencement of services by the new operator (Transition roles)
- Taking a partnership approach, draw upon your strong relationship management skills to maintain sound bus contracts that are fit for purpose
- Oversee the commercial management, KPI performance, asset and safety outcomes to ensure compliance and value for money
- Drive ongoing improvements in service delivery across the network
- Focus on new and emerging technologies

About you
You will demonstrate prior success managing multiple contracts of similar complexity and value in a customer focused environment.
Your stakeholder engagement skills will be first class, enabling a flexible, relationship based approach to managing the contracts. You will display a continuous improvement focus, driving service improvements and engaging new technologies across the network.
We have multiple opportunities available, both permanent managing the service contracts, and Fixed Term (until 30 June 2025) managing the Transition to new operators.
