Technical Services provides and coordinates specialised engineering and technical advice and services to enable the multi-modal delivery, operations and management of our Transport network. We are the centre of technical expertise driving innovation and best practice.
About the opportunity
We have a unique opportunity for Utilities Specialist to join our dynamic team. It’s a great opportunity to support and assist the Infrastructure and Place division.
About the Role
Utilities Specialist is responsible for managing the interface and stakeholder relationships with utility authorities, rail authorities and telecommunication carriers within a program office. The role will work with the program office team throughout all project life cycle phases (including the development, design, construction and handover phase) to identify potential conflicts with utilities, with a particular focus on resolving utility issues during design and construction, to ensure effective cooperation and issue resolution between organisations. The position will also manage relationships and project issues with utilities authorities.
Utilities Specialist will support the project by managing the utilities before the construction phase by providing specialist advice to the Project Mangers in development and design phase.
Expectations:
- Demonstrated experience in the infrastructure industry with experience in the management of utility locations and relocations
- Solid understanding of the processes of infrastructure delivery and the impacts of utilities on those projects and of the impact of utilities on existing road, rail and bridge assets
- Demonstrated knowledge of relevant State and Federal legislation and experience in reading and interpreting design plans, property plans and land titles.
About you
We are looking for a specialist to join our high performing team. You are a strong collaborator, very flexible, adaptable and pro-active in your involvement to produce the required outcomes. You possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Essential Requirement
- Appropriate tertiary qualifications or demonstrated, relevant, equivalent professional experience.
- You have Utility, Street Lighting, RTS or Road Building background. Infrastructure experience is a must.

Salary and Benefits
The salary for this position is USS Grade 10 ($126,310- $138,035) per annum plus superannuation and leave loading.
