We are currently searching for an energetic Quality Inspector to support the Signalling scope across the Sydney Metro City & Southwest Project – Australia’s largest public transport project! In this role, you will be working with our installation and Test & commissioning teams to make sure our products and installation construction work is carried out in line with Alstom internal Quality plans and directives as well as to our customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities for this role includes:
- Lead onsite installation and T&C quality inspections/control activities.
- Participate in site walkdowns, site access and inspection with internal as well as external stakeholders.
- Participate in the hand over inspection from installation to T&C in terms of quality.
- Review and verify installation records such as ITPs, ITRs, As-builts and provide feedback to installation for action/rectification.
- Use project defect management platform to log any defects inspected on site and relay information for resolution.
- Apply and follow site EHS rules and coordinate with EHS team.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience required includes:
- Trade Certificate or Diploma ideally in electrical/electronic or mechanical engineering (or equivalent through experience).
- Familiar with in-process inspections and quality procedures.
- Ability to analyse and critique taks and issues in order to come up with mitigation strategies.
- Experience using Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and SharePoint, along with good IT skills.
- Prior experience working in a rail environment (or similar).
This position will be based out of our head office in Macquarie Park, and will require travel between site locations. We are offering 2 years fixed term with potential to extend or transfer locally or nationally, a competitive market salary package and the opportunity to work on Australia’s largest public transport project!
