The Iron Ore Health and Safety Team is looking to appoint an experienced Health & Safety Advisor to support and deliver H&S services. Working within an inclusive team of health and safety professionals, this role will support the implementation of the RTIO H&S Management System and effective delivery of the Iron Ore H&S Strategy.

Reporting to the Superintendent Health, Safety and Emergency Services, you will be working in a collaborative community, focusing on:
- Delivering the functional H&S plan and supporting operational leaders improving safety maturity;
- Partnering with operational leaders to support proactive management of key health and safety risks onsite;
- Provide trusted advice on health and safety matters to operational leaders in line with the Rio Tinto HSEQ Management System;
- Collaboration with Hub and Asset teams to support proactive management and opportunities for alignment of the H&S strategic plan;
- Influence and coach operational leadership teams to ensure successful delivery and application of fundamental H&S processes (leadership in the field, critical risk management, workplace conditions, hazard & id control, pre-start meetings, incident investigation and action quality);
- Completing first line assurance to verify compliance to Rio Tinto systems, procedures and standards;
- Analysis and problem solving in matters of complex health and safety issues;
- Providing onsite support for incident investigations and risk assessments, including coaching and facilitating;
- Developing and providing relevant H&S information (e.g. safety statistics, incident information, risk analysis, educational material) to operational leaders;
- Identification and implementation of continuous improvement opportunities in all areas of the Health and Safety Function.

Where you’ll be working
Tom Price is located in the central Pilbara, west of Karijini National Park and is our original Pilbara mine, currently employing residential and fly in fly out employees. It is known as one of the most attractive towns in the Pilbara with a high school, two primary schools a hospital and a high standard of recreational facilities.
