Your new role
Due to an internal move an amazing opportunity has now become available to work at AustralianSuper. This role will provide be a pivotal part of the new Finance & Reporting Services team as it changes our approach to finance. This position provides a key resource for additional asset class reporting, focussing on performance and attribution outcomes, along with enhancing reporting for Senior Management. You will need to prepare monthly performance returns for investment options, asset classes and investment managers to ensure the accuracy of calculations. Along with analysing these returns and clarifying the drivers of performance. Reports are produced on a monthly and quarterly basis. These reports are then delivered to the internal investment teams along with other relevant departments and research houses. You will oversee and maintain the performance and attribution system (Ortec PEARL), processes and appropriate system automation in meeting performance and attribution requirements of multiple stakeholders. Below are some more key duties of this role, but not limited to;
- Liaise with the custodian, data providers and/or other service providers to resolve issues concerning performance or other fund information.
- Respond to ad hoc requests from members of the investments department, other parts of the business and external stakeholders.
- Assist in designing and enhancing reporting provided to the department, including Senior Management, to assist in better decision making.
- Working with the asset class teams and the data management teams to develop and implement enhanced performance and attribution reporting and monitor and enhance performance and fund information database.
What you'll need
- Solid understanding of financial markets and valuation of various instruments along with relevant performance standards and methodologies in a multi-currency environment.
- You will have sound working knowledge of MS Office products and investments systems, in particular Excel.
- You will have good rapport building skills working with various stakeholders.
- Experience with coding in computer languages is advantageous (VBA and Python) along with data visualisation tool (PowerBI)
