Peppertree Quarry
Boral's Peppertree Quarry is the company's newest and largest hard rock quarry in Australia.
Located in the NSW Southern Tablelands, the quarry serves the Sydney metropolitan area's need for building aggregates. The new quarry opened its gates in early 2014 and will supply up to 3.5 million tonnes of aggregate material per year at peak production levels.
The quarry operates 7 days a week working a 12 hour shift structure with 4 rotating crews on a 4 ON x 4 OFF roster.
About the position
In this role you will be responsible for:
- Ensuring compliance to Boral’s safety and environmental management systems
- Promoting a positive safety culture through leadership
- Supervision of daily activities involving employees and contractors
- Delivery of daily toolbox talks and shift handover reports
- Co-ordinating quality control requirements
- Co-ordinate stock inventory and liaise with internal customers
- Lead and implement LEAN initiatives
Skills and experience:
- An uncompromising commitment to safety
- Strong people skills and communication skills
- Previous experience in supervising a quarry/mine and Cert IV in Extractive Industries or willing to obtain
- Proven ability and experience in supervising
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise competing deadlines
