About the Role
An exciting opportunity to join BOQ as a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) during our transformation journey. By joining the digital bank of the future you will be able to make a difference with integrity and empathy, overseeing the success and effectiveness of the monitoring and insights capability, adding significant value to our organisation.
As a Site Reliability Engineer you will use monitoring tools to measure availability, latency and performance of our key digital banking products and mobile apps. You will work closely with our developer and operations teams on innovative and critical banking solutions.
Your primary focus will be on maintaining the existing standards to deliver monitoring and alerting using AppDynamics, Thousand Eyes, Azure Application Insights and Azure Monitor.
Key Responsibilities
- Driving continuous improvement and ensuring operational stability and performance of multiple critical business services.
- Working with DevOps teams to maintain monitoring agents in development and live environments.
- Improve automation of common processes and find enhancements and innovative solutions to help the services both scale and become increasingly self-healing.
- Be a key driver for the monitoring and insights team initiatives and projects.
About you
As an experienced Site Reliability Engineer (or similar, including: Systems Engineer, DevOps and Application Support Engineer, Cloud Engineer, Senior Tester), you will enjoy working at pace in a collaborative and innovative environment. You will have proven experience working with diagnosing memory leaks, data corruption, replication, and application performance and tuning.
Alongside your strong understanding of observability tools such as AppDynamics, AppInsight or Splunk, you will have experience in containerised workloads and management platforms such as Docker or Kubernetes. You will have initiative to prompt our external vendor when scripting is required, having familiarity of PowerShell, .NET, Azure and Source control systems.
Skills in systems engineering such as Linux I/O tuning, performance, memory management and troubleshooting desirable. Knowledge of ARM, Pulumi, Terraform, Chef and Ansible is useful.
