About the Role
The primary purpose of the position is to analyse, assess and decision Commercial Lending submissions for the BOQ Specialist business.
- Decisions are to be exercised under an appropriate Delegated Approval Authority (DAA) as assigned.
- Ensuring the credit risk accepted by the business is within the risk appetite as prescribed by the business.
- This role is viewed as integral support to achievement of BoQ’s business strategy outcomes in terms of both quality and growth targets.
- This role also includes an indirect coaching and mentoring function, through promoting a prudent credit culture to sales network colleagues, through feedback and assistance with a satisfactory customer borrowing structure.
- If required, contribution to credit policy development, credit quality outcomes, process improvement, project work and completion of other such additional allocated tasks.
- Credit administrative tasks required to be completed relative to the existing BOQS commercial portfolio.
About you
- Minimum 5 years experience in a similar role
- Strong background in all aspects of commercial credit risk assessment
- Ability to understand the credit risk appetite, credit strategy and apply the bank lending policy
- Understanding of the medical profession, qualifications and specialist occupations within the industry (desirable)
- Understanding of the residential and commercial property market, retail property market and residential property market
- Strong background in lending products across commercial lending, consumer lending, cash flow financing and asset finance.
- Ability to read, understand and analyse complex financial statements and corporate structures
- Knowledge of the Consumer Credit Code, Code of Banking Practice and other regulatory and legal consideration
