About the Opportunity
Boral are actively seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to join our Major Projects division. Reporting directly to the GM Business & Market Development, you will have a direct role in influencing the ever growing Boral business across Victoria and South Australia.
For this strategic role, we are seeking an industry experienced, high energy, results oriented professional to work in growing our already highly regarded business. As a valued member of our team, you will be responsible for the sales and successful delivery of our products and contracting services within our existing markets and the identification and development of new opportunities within our industry.
This is a permanent opportunity offering full-time hours across Monday to Friday. This role will be primarily based in Melbourne. Flexibility to travel is required.
About the Role
Your duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Building and maintaining strategic customer relationships
- Developing and implementing bid strategies for Major Projects
- Preparing tender submissions, including managing various Boral product submissions
- Managing contractual aspects of tenders and price submissions to ensure risk is mitigated and opportunities identified, including identifying alternative proposal opportunities in tenders
- Driving the improvement in the business development area, including proposal/ tender submission, marketing materials and other submission materials
- Undertaking market intelligence on customers, competitors and industry
- Marketing innovative products and solutions in conjunction with the various Boral product teams to recommend service offerings and potential growth opportunities
About You
The successful applicant must demonstrate:
- Extensive experience within Business Development in the construction industry - essential
- Existing network and knowledge of the Victorian/ South Australian market and relevant industry sectors
- Tertiary qualifications in Project Management, Business Management, Construction Management or Civil Engineering are highly desirable
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills and strong emotional intelligence
- Excellent negotiation skills and ability to assess contractual risks
