The Project Finance Analyst at Pacific Partnerships supports the Project Finance Director and Chief Financial Officer on infrastructure transactions with a focus on greenfield infrastructure, PPPs and renewable energy projects.
The Project Finance Analyst is responsible for financial analysis, financial modelling, counterparty creditworthiness assessment, investment screening and approvals, due diligence, bid submission, project management and supporting debt arranging, equity arranging and origination of infrastructure transactions.
As required, the role extends to asset management and Pacific Partnerships corporate support. For a given transaction, it is critical to secure competitive sources of finance, implement the CIMIC Group’s integrated approach to projects and appropriately represent the interest of key stakeholders.
Located in Sydney the role will include:
- Support Project Finance Director and Chief Financial Officer to develop, successfully close and invest in infrastructure transactions
- Develop strategies and screen opportunities in new sectors and asset classes
- Implementation of business model and CIMIC Group’s integrated approach to projects
- Provide rigorous and reliable financial analysis
- Build, utilise and review financial models
- Investment screening and approvals
- Bid development and transaction execution
- Monitor and, as required, provide support to Pacific Partnerships’ assets including refinancing, engagement with financiers and other strategic initiatives
- As required, research and analysis of new asset classes
Our minimum requirements for this role are:
- Tertiary Degree (Bachelor level) qualifications in Finance, Economics, Commerce, Engineering, Law, Maths or Science
- Post-graduate study preferable (including Masters of Finance or CFA)
- Minimum of three years’ relevant infrastructure, PPP, renewables or utility experience
- Infrastructure sponsor/equity, project finance banking, financial advisory, debt arranging or infrastructure funds management experience well regarded
- Very strong numeric and financial modelling capabilities, including model building
- Previous exposure to the construction or engineering sectors in a relevant capacity desirable
- Commercial acumen - understanding of the commercial framework applicable to project finance and other financial transactions
- Evident communication, relationship building (internal and external) and influencing capabilities
- Decision making skills and solutions driven approach
- Demonstrable transaction execution / implementation skills
