Reporting into the APAC Finance Director and operating in this pivotal role supporting the New Zealand GTM team, you will not only be an invaluable contributor, but an exceptional team player to continue to deliver value to our business.
Having been there and done that, you will intimately understand the dynamic of operating at pace on commercial demands, delivering insightful set piece performance reporting and planning while also understanding the necessity of embedding efficient and effective core processes to enable the future success of an evolving market. To some this may seem like conflicting priorities but you won’t be phased by it; spinning plates to achieve great business outcomes is a talent of yours.
Your ability to think critically, spearhead new ways of working, navigate ambiguity and confidently build complex excel models to steer decision making and drive efficient growth will see you working closely with the APAC Finance Director, the New Zealand Leadership and wider team.
What you’ll do
Create Revenue Models to Drive Efficient Growth - You will build, iterate and ultimately own the revenue model for New Zealand. Working closely with the sales team you will monitor daily sales performance and use your modelling skills to project monthly / in-year /long term outlooks - keeping the Leadership team and the Finance Director informed of performance vs. target and the direction of travel. Ownership of Performance Reporting (incl. SaaS metrics) - You will become the expert on New Zealand’s performance and P&L - owning the FP&A set pieces (month-end, forecasting, budgeting) and understanding the interplay between revenue performance and capital allocation. Support day to day finance operations - As the face of Finance for the NZ team you will support and direct queries to the right Finance teams within the group and lean into activities such as supporting with sales commission frameworks. Effectively Communicate Results, Insights and Action Recommendations - You will create and actively manage effective two way communication with key individuals within the region and broader company. You are able to effectively understand your audience and can synthesize relevant data and information into narrative “stories'' that inform and influence your audience. You keep the final delivery at the front of mind when planning and carrying out your work. Drive efficiencies across the APAC Finance Team -You will assist the APAC Finance Director and the broader Finance team in driving an evolution of our processes, systems and ways of working so that we have the foundations in place to operate effectively and efficiently as we continue to scale across our markets. Provide Consolidation and Oversight - Lean in and support the broader APAC Finance team in consolidating the Region’s stories and core deliverables.
What you’ll bring with you
Qualified accountant (CA, CPA etc.) 8+ years of progressive financial experience within a commercial finance/ FP&A team with several years of revenue analysis/builidng driver based models required (recurring revenue model highly desired). Experience within a Consulting or Accounting firm and/or a SaaS company is highly desirable. Experience with financial systems such as NetSuite, business intelligence tools and corporate performance management software. Tangible experience of driving continuous improvement across Finance processes, systems and ways of working in scaling / maturing organisations with the objective of creating the capacity to elevate the role of Finance to strategic partnerStakeholder Centric. You use Finance as your vehicle to provide insights and add value to the business. Commercial acumen. You are able to synthesise and distil information to shine a light on the activity, decisions and outcomes that really matter. Intellectually curious. You possess an innate desire to learn and ask why - you leverage your learning to continuously add value to your stakeholders. Comfort with navigating ambiguity. You thrive in being a frontier and are comfortable with owning the route to an outcome. Strong data manipulation. You are in your element when you are leveraging your analytical and commercial modelling skills to build complex excel models. Highly effective communicator and influencer. You can quickly shift from technical analysis to building presentations with effective narratives. (i.e You have built a lot of Powerpoint decks for senior audiences)Comfort with spinning plates.
