Are you a motivated, team-focused environmental professional? Take the next step in your career development by joining Alcoa’s Mining Environmental Team in this newly created role of Environmental Technician based at our Huntly Bauxite Mine.
This is a full-time position, working Monday to Friday each week on site, with a Leisure Day every four weeks, all within driving distance of home!
In this role, you will be coordinating and implementing a range of environmental management, monitoring programs and environmental system maintenance. You will support the environmental team towards achieving leading practice in environmental management.
Your duties will include:
Conducting environmental monitoring (noise, dust, water and soil), equipment maintenance and field programs.
Assisting with the management of environmental data systems, including quality control, storage and initial data analysis.
Assisting in the development and delivery of training materials.
Contributing to Operational Environmental Improvement Projects
Managing specialty consultants and contractors.
About you
To play a part in our ongoing success we are seeking someone with:
Certificate IV in Environmental Monitoring or equivalent university qualification (as a minimum)
Previous exposure to environmental monitoring and sampling, ideally in a mining or major construction environment
A team-focused approach to your work
Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills
High attention to detail and an organised approach to your work.
