
Job Opportunity: Indigenous Leadership Program Manager
Wesfarmers hosted by Kmart Group is excited to introduce a leadership opportunity that will drive the growth,
development and engagement of our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander team.
As the Indigenous Leadership Program Manager, you will oversee the end-to-end program management of the Cert IV in Indigenous Leadership program for the Wesfarmers Divisions.
You will manage the program implementation and overall day-to-day co-ordination activities. This role is the main liaison between the Australian Indigenous Leadership Centre (AILC), Divisions (Kmart, Target, Catch, Bunnings, Officeworks, Wesfarmers Corporate, Wesfarmers Industrial & Safety) and team members.
Responsibilities include:
- Manage multiple projects, ensuring all program components are delivered on time and key stakeholders regularly engaged and updated
- Ability to write sensitive & engaging communication tailored to the needs of the audience
- Ability to understand social issues and challenges to handle tasks with empathy and compassion
- Collaborating with our diverse stakeholders from different divisions and all levels of the business
- Understanding of the issues affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples

What do I need?
You will ideally possess the following skills and experience;

- Proven experience connecting and working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities in Australia
- Experience in end-to-end program management including successful development of a business case for a learning initiative or similar program
- Experience in organising travel, including booking flights, accommodation and management of budget and expenses
- Strong attention to detail and time management capabilities
- Proven experience in interpreting, analysing and communicating data and budget management
- Confidence to build strong and trusting relationships with external suppliers
- Excellent problem solving to ensure program outcomes achieved.
This role requires some regional and interstate travel so flexibility to be available for this should be a consideration when applying for this role. The successful applicant must have the right to work in Australia and a valid Driver’s License.
