It provides resources, services and facilities to support the information needs of RMIT's large and globally distributed student and staff population and supplies expertise for the management of the University’s archives and business information.
At RMIT Melbourne, the University Library operates from 4 different locations: the Swanston Library; the Bundoora Library; the Carlton Library and Brunswick Library and manages a Makerspace on the city campus. At RMIT Vietnam, the Library supports the 6,000 students from 2 locations: Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi.
The Role & Your Responsibilities
This role works strategically across the University to ensure that the Library delivers a fully integrated and high-quality student experience. It is responsible for developing and delivering services that meet the rapidly-changing expectations of students, staff and stakeholders in a model that is sustainable, global, and delivers impact.
The role is accountable for front-facing Library enquiry, student academic mentoring and learning support services across all RMIT University, locally and globally. It ensures that Library learning services meets the needs of customers and stakeholders. It is responsible for maintaining high level strategic partnerships across the University, to ensure that Library learning support services are aligned with learning and teaching strategy and deliver outcomes for the University.
Skills & Experience Required
As a member of the Library Executive, this role contributes to the delivery of the Library Service Principles and transformation agenda to meet the strategic objectives of the University. You will proactively lead and drive an adaptive Library culture to establish a future-fit organisation capable of evolving and changing. As a senior leader, you will have extensive experience in planning and delivering quality services in an academic environment as well as be passionate about building effective strategic relationships with key stakeholders and with staff at all levels. Important to this role will be your ability to lead cultural transformation and set the tone for high-performing teams as well as your approach to adopting new technologies to drive service improvements. Your high level understanding of emerging issues, trends, developments and standards in relation to library services and academic skills development will also critical to this role.
Qualifications
Essential: A degree in librarianship, information management, tertiary learning and teaching, management, or other relevant discipline, and extensive relevant experience.
Desirable: Eligibility for Associate membership of the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA)
This role will require satisfactory confirmation of a Working with Children Check.
