About the role:
Reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent, this Perth based opportunity will see you join Australia’s largest rail freight operator and be responsible for leading a team of tradespeople in the service & repair of locomotives, wagons and related equipment.
- Team leadership of tradespeople including Fitters & maintainers to achieve business targets
- Manage and coordinate training activities for maintenance personnel and site improvements activities
- Track rosters, on time performance & safety against benchmarks and standards of performance
- Ensure all operational activities are compliant with company procedures, and legislative/statutory obligations
- Managing of minor projects and assisting, planning and scheduling personnel to achieve scheduled work
- Requirement to support the recovery and derailment team
About you:
- A safety leader and champion a safety culture which promotes, I Know Safe, I Choose Safe approach
- You will have high level interpersonal skills & the ability to build and maintain relationships with direct reports and management
- High level operational knowledge of SAP & Microsoft programs
- Analytical & problem-solving skills
- Mechanical Trade qualification (essential)
