Purpose of the Role
- The purpose of this job is to schedule and control the daily operations in the Service depots, so that they are maintained on time in accordance with the Maintenance / Overhaul plan. This is a key support function for operations.
- The repairables scheduler makes the link between industrial planning, PrSCL, logistics and operations to ensure on time execution of operations
- Give feedback to procurement team regarding short term supply issues (missing parts, non-conformity, …)
- The Repairs line scheduler is in charge of launching, coordinating and controlling the progress of Work Orders / Service Orders according to the MPS / Repairs Schedule
- Managing and expediting all materials from Broken to Good Stock Receipt on time
- On a weekly basis, provide feedback to planning to update the MPS, regarding operational constraints, materials/resources availability
- On a daily basis, coordinate with logistic, procurement and quality to allow the operations team to maintain as per the plan.
Key accountabilities:
- At project starting, initialize repair process flow
- Check works orders readiness to ensure work orders can be launched on time and analyze shortages
- Convert broken stock into Repair / Warranty Orders and launch them on time to suppliers
- Follow-up daily the progress of Repair Orders through close exchanges with suppliers and provide visibility on materials availability for task sequences
- Ensure that priorities as planned in the MPS are clearly displayed and updated at shop floor level (visual management)
- Alert the planning team/supply chain manager about issues impacting plan execution (missing parts, quality issues, production stoppage, technical data)
- Analyze deviations with operations and Quality, and propose short term recovery actions in order to catch-up the committed plan
- Provide the operations team with priorities & visibility to the logistics team in order to plan warehouse operations
- Secure the internal production flows by monitoring internal repairs
- Follow-up subcontracted operations and ensure their execution on time in collaboration with procurement/logistics/production
- Check data accuracy related to Repair Routings in collaboration with Logistics and Material Planning
- Collaborate with quality team in order to prioritize incoming inspection and quality issues priorities
- Contribute to the footprint updates needs with Logistics methods
- Ensure all Warranty items and repeat repairs have a NCR raised in the Quality Portal with SQ
- Contribute to minimize the hard inventory for corrective material.
Key Requirements / skills
- A tertiary qualified person (engineering/ business/Logistics purchasing/materials management) or technically experienced (Electrical or Mechanical discipline) with rail industry experience
- Computer Literate in MS Office programs (i.e. Word, Excel, Access)
- Working knowledge of Baan MRP system or Maximo CMMS (Highly regarded but not essential)
- Demonstrated experience in a similar role in a parts and accessories/stores environment.
- Sound understanding of warehousing processes, inventory management procedures and documentation requirements.
