We are seeking an APJ Business Analytics and Sales Insights Lead for our APJ Business Operations team to help transform the way we operate. AWS has a strong culture of data-driven decision-making; requiring timely, accurate, and actionable intelligence that delivers significant business value. The APJ Business Analytics & Insights Lead will be the go-to person for meaningful business analytics and rich sales insights to better serve our customers, both internal and external. The ideal candidate needs to understand complex business structures within AWS, be passionate about produce data analysis and actionable insights that enables dynamic decision-making using cutting edge technology with high standards. He/she needs to earns trust through outstanding performance, excellent business acumen and communication skills, and be able to work with AWS business leaders to develop and define key business questions, then work backwards to deliver meaningful insights that answer those questions. You should be excited about working with data, be driven to dive deep, and passionate about collaborating with Data Scientists, BI Engineers, Data Engineers, Business Analysts, Sales Leadership and Sales Operations teams.
Your solid analytic skills, strong business judgement, and ability to dive deep into data to identify early warning signs, risk and opportunities will make you a critical partner to sales and sales operations leaders as you help them prioritize initiatives, identify gaps in process and performance, and remove barriers to execution. This individual will collaborate effectively with internal end-users and cross-functional teams to understand business performance, solve problems, support strategies from analytical perspective, and deliver successfully against high standards. A successful individual is a person that has a proven work ethic that drives the desired results, and has experience in sales or sales operations. This is a hands-on position - the ideal candidate must be willing to “roll up the sleeves” and deliver with the highest standards.
Key job responsibilities
- Act as the business analytics lead to provide key executive analysis consumed by APJ Commercial Sales Leadership
- Provide analytical support in regular executive insights, quarter business reviews, strategy meetings and more
- Extracting, analyzing data using relational databases, then building insightful analysis with consistent high accuracy to identify early signs of risk, opportunities, and actionable recommendations
- Deep dive into executive and operational metrics to present back to senior leadership in a consumable manner
- Support strategic initiatives from the analytical standpoint
- Ensure that the quality and timeliness of analytic deliverables to meet and exceed the Sales Strategy & Operations team expectations
- Identify current reporting gaps and provide guidance for enhancements on critical performance dashboards
- Be a strong business partner to business intelligence, country/segment sales operations, finance, HR, and other stakeholders
- Prepare ad hoc analysis & participate on projects as needed
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 8+ years of professional work experience in business analysis, reporting, strategy, analytics or business intelligence and ability to translate results into actionable deliverables, messages, and presentations; with large and complex datasets
- Experience driving data-driven recommendations and suggestions and providing thought leadership around sales strategy
- A track record of partnering with senior management and an ability to communicate complex data issues clearly to both internal and external customers
- Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite required, advanced Excel, Tableau, and dashboarding skills
- Proficiency in relational databases (Redshift, RDS, SQL Server, MySQL, etc.) and SQL for querying and extracting data
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 10+ years of professional work experience in business analysis, reporting, strategy, analytics or business intelligence
- Experience working within a large, high-growth, technology company would be highly beneficial
- Cross group collaboration skills and ability to influence without explicit authority
- Experience processing, extracting, data from large data sets and present insights effectively using data visualization software (QuickSight, Tableau, PowerBI, QlikView, etc.)
- Proficiency in at least programming languages (Python, Java, R, etc.) for data gathering, data cleansing and statistical analysis
