What will you do?
As the Graphic Designer/Art Director the primary purpose of the role is concepting, designing and production of digital creative for the Target business across social media, E-commerce, email, display and print advertising.
Creating communications which land their intended message in line with our brand personality and marketing objectives, resulting in effective, breakthrough communications and delivering best practise digital solutions and shaping our digital standards.
Key responsibilities will also include:
- Delivers creative and campaigns that answer the brief and executes/maintains the brand strategy. Good attention to detail in all projects.
- Proactively brings innovation, ideas and influence creative results
- Collaboration with marketing and merchandise teams to produce all digital branded collateral
- Delivers a creative solution that exceeds key objectives and metrics
- Understanding of software programs
- Understanding of digital platforms and channels – Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and Pinterest
- Understanding of print media including catalogue and point of sale
- Follows the key parts of the process.
- Projects delivered on time and within budget. Keeps line manager, piers, departments and agency partners across project progress.
- Clear communication throughout the process
- Working closely with the photographic teams to ensure the creative direction and content requirements are delivered accurately and on brand
- Strong art direction skills with both static and moving imagery
- Influences effective presentation of product
What are we looking for?
The ideal candidate will have high attention to detail and a strong understanding of our Target customer. You will have the ability to take ownership of tasks, build strong working relationships to achieve objectives and provide sound reasoning and decision quality:
This is the perfect role for a driven individual, who excels in a fast-paced and collaborative environment. Someone who suggests creative ideas and innovative solutions by explores multiple alternatives and approaches to overcome obstacles and find solutions.
- 5+ years in a digital or advertising agency as graphic designer/art director
- Diploma or equivalent in Design, multi-media or advertising
- Graphic or digital design degree and/or equivalent work experience
- Deep understanding of all social media channels and the specific types of content needed to resonate with channel-specific consumers
- Experience working in cross-discipline teams and the ability to work autonomously
- A strong understanding of current industry tools; and the ability to quickly adapt to adopt new technologies
- The ability to balance creative and conceptual thinking with an appreciation of user-centric design and experience
- Makes creative and strategic decisions on a daily basis that ensure both profitability and creative quality
- Thorough understanding of art direction, eg briefing designers, finished artists, web, photographers, stylists, illustrators etc
- Take pride in delivering thoughtful, strategic, high quality work
- Strong conceptual thinking across desktop and mobile design
- Adobe suite including: In design, Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, Premiere Pro, & Sketch
- HTML 5 and UX experience would be an advantage
- Copy writing experience would be an advantage
