What will you do?
We currently have a senior leadership opportunity for Senior Corporate Affairs Manager to join our iconic business. Reporting to the Head of Corporate Affairs this role will contribute to the success of the division through the provision of a full range of communication and media strategies. This highly visible position will be responsible for the development and implementation of internal and external communications including reputation management that will contribute effectively to the business objectives and vision of Target.
The Primary Purpose of your role as a Manager is enhancing and protecting the company's reputation through internal and external programs which are in line with Target’s values.
Other key responsibility include, but are not limited to:
- Lead Internal communications for Target to create a clear strategy, channels and communications and bring to life Target’s Values, Vision and Strategy through the creation of strategic and engaging communications for our 12,000 team members
- Lead external communications for Target in line with the broader Kmart Group corporate affairs reputational strategy, including media, government relations and elements of PR and/or other external engagements
- Devising and leading an internal relaunch through the business turnaround
- Guide the business through a prior commenced significant change program by delivering strategic and engaging communications.
- Providing guidance to the business and leaders as a trusted adviser on the appropriate stance for the organisation through written or verbal communications
- Lead major Target internal events
- Stakeholder engagement: identify and engage with relevant internal and external stakeholders to ensure reputation management is handled appropriately
- Adhere to a culture of cost-conscious behaviour through management of the internal communications budget
- Lead the Target vision, strategy and values within the team and across the organization
- Lead communications for Target strategy implementation and various change projects
What are we looking for?
You will be a highly experienced Senior Corporate Affairs practitioner from a large and complex corporate environment with a broad range of stakeholders. You will have a strong reputation for delivering high level strategic, advice and plans, exceptional media relations experience coupled with a proven track record of success in internal communications, team engagement and internal branding.
The role will need is a strong ability to work closely with leadership teams , the ability to work and lead across all of internal comms, external comms and PR, government relations, and a calmness to work under ambiguity and manage a large area of work.
As a successful candidate you will ideally possess the following:
- Minimum 7+ years’ experience in a Communications/PR role
- Tertiary qualification in communications, public relations or journalism
- Demonstrated ability to independently manage and resolve complex issues
- Corporate Affairs or internal communications experience
- Project management experience
- Extensive experience managing agency relationships
- Preferable – experience managing teams
- Highly developed written and verbal communication skills
- Able to operate at all levels in organisation particularly within senior management
- Ability to operate under pressure in a changing environment
