Job Description
This is an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled expert in immunohistochemistry to join the IHC group within the Characterisation Team as either a Scientist or Senior Scientist depending on your level of expertise. We are looking for someone who is passionate about validating high quality antibodies.
The Characterisation Team is part of the Antibody Validation and Characterization Group and plays a key role in the validation and characterization of new high quality antibodies before they are delivered to our customers.
Reporting directly to the IHC team leader, you will have significant experience in automated immunohistochemistry using Leica Bond and/or Ventana Discovery systems preferably in an IVD or pharmaceutical GCPL setting. Additionally, you will have a sound knowledge of antibody validation methods, IHC multiplexing and in situ hybridisation.
You will be collaborating with other labs across the world on new products and key research and development. You will have a proven track record of delivering projects with impressive results as well as an ability to teach and mentor others.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Ensure high quality IHC validation of new antibodies.
- Streamline current processes with a focus on continuous improvements and implementation of new methods.
- Communicate clearly with project managers and interacting with team leaders, providing delivery dates, updates, and the necessary documentation.
- Maintain high quality standards within the lab; ensuring the lab is compliant with all external and internal quality standards, including ISO9001
- Ability to prioritize and balance multiple projects to meet timelines
- Highly effective analytical and problem-solving skills, including excellent attention to detail
- Line management of junior staff

Qualifications
You will be PhD educated in an appropriate subject (or can demonstrate an equivalent level of expertise) with a number of years of experience in an academic setting (industry experience would be a real plus). You will have extensive practical expertise in immunohistochemistry techniques andexperience in automated image analysis (e.g. Visiopharm/Halo) would be great but not essential.
If you have experience within an IVD or pharmaceutical organisation and/or working under regulatory guidelines, such as GCPL or GLP, that would be great along with multiplexing and in situ hybridisation.
