Job Description
We're looking for an exceptional Agile Business Analyst who will act as the link between Business, Product and Development teams within the Digital Science domain.
A key part of this role is to analyse and design new requirements and transform existing processes into abcam’s Lab-of-the-future vision. The role will require your expertise to identify and define detailed product requirements and use cases. Serving as a liaison to the science community, the role will maintain and uphold the business community' perspective and benefits through an agile delivery process.
About the Team
The Digital Science Team comprises of a diverse set of skills, knowledge and experience including Business Partnering, Business Analysis, Development, Product and Portfolio Management. The team is committed to delivering high quality and beneficial digital products to our scientific, manufacturing and product innovation functions that is aligned to our customers’ purpose and vision.
Primary responsibilities:
Understanding, influencing, and collaborating with stakeholders, users, the business, across departments and teams to identify and define need.
Use a variety of techniques including facilitating single or multiple user research sessions and the analysis of data to elicit requirements.
Collecting or creating new sources of data to support requirements and prioritisation within a backlog.
Creating and owning high-quality user & functional requirements and managing these though the Agile SDLC.
Identifying and defining business benefit, value and metrics, epics, features, user stories, including splitting and refining work, and curating the backlog.
Champion agile ways of working and solution delivery at pace, coaching others in the team in agile business analysis techniques.
Working with stakeholder to gain consensus in common practices, terminology and opportunities for business process improvement.
Working hand-in-hand with developers, ensuring the development lifecycle remains continuous and product quality and benefits are maintained.
Support and influence the continuous improvement of the delivery management framework and methodology.
Qualifications
You will have worked with multiple project disciplines and methodologies, but be particularly strong in Agile, and within a business with both a web application development and SaaS software implementation focus. You will be experienced in the full project/product management lifecycle.
You will be educated to degree level and have more than 2 years’ experience as a Business Analyst. You will have a recognised Business Analysis certification or have attended a formalised Business Analysis course.
Experience within the Life Sciences industry would be ideal but is not essential, but curious learning style will help to hit the ground running.
You will excel at facilitating group discussions and workshops, using tried and tested techniques to elicit, validate and prioritise requirements and user stories. You will be comfortable escalating where appropriate and be confident to influence and engage stakeholders to reach common goals.
Prioritisation and time management must be a strong point, as must multi-tasking, as you could be balancing your time across multiple workstreams within the project simultaneously.
