Job Description
Reporting directly to the Global Director of Tax, the role is in charge of Abcam’s group tax reporting and in charge of corporate tax compliance in the UK and overseas jurisdictions, excluding the US. A key part of the role is also to be a pivotal part of group tax planning and other group projects in order to help Abcam’s business to be set up and operate in a tax efficient manner.
Primary accountabilities:
- Prepares the group statutory tax reporting financial statement disclosures, both annually and quarterly
- Prepares the UK Corporation Tax returns, liaising, where needed with external providers
- Manages outside consultants on projects such as capital allowances analysis of significant fixed asset investments and Research & Development tax credits
- Manages automation initiatives which impact corporate taxes
- Provides tax input on company projects such as company reorganisations, corporate acquisitions and business expansion plans
- Provides the business with tax input to projects on an ongoing basis
Qualifications
As the Group Tax Manager you'll already have plenty of experience working in tax compliance and reporting roles. You'll have an in-depth knowledge of UK Corporate Tax as well as Research & Development tax projects. As a Tax professional you will have good accounting skills, an ability to communicate complex tax terms and ideas to non-financial colleagues, as well as being ATT/CTA qualified.
