Job Description

Working in collaboration with Anglian Ruskin University (ARU) we have a super exciting BRAND NEW opportunity to join our Lab Support team based in our head office in Cambridge, UK. This will equip the successful applicant with both practical and theoretical skills along with work-based understanding developing all those essential skills.

Whilst studying towards a fully funded BSc Laboratory Science Degree you will be an integral part of the team supporting the lab teams with specialist laboratory cleaning, maintenance of communal lab areas, maintaining stock of lab consumables and reagents. You will also support with sample inventory and distribution, buffer preparation and supply clean lab ware.

You will also support in the general lab areas, our cell culture suite and molecular lab, requiring a conscientious, flexible approach and great attention to detail.

As part of the apprenticeship programme your attendance will be required at ARU to complete a day release based training programme.

Qualifications

You will have at least 112 UCAS Tariff points which is equivalent to:

  • B,B,C A Level or D,M,M from a National Diploma
  • At least 5 GCSE’s at Grade C/5 which much include Maths and English

Applicants who do not meet the above requirements will be considered on a case-by-case basis and may require an interview.

There is a government requirement for apprenticeship candidates to present suitable GCSE/Level 2 Maths and English (or equivalent) certificates in order to complete an apprenticeship.

The academic entry requirements for courses are designed to ensure, as far as possible, that candidates are able to engage with the academic demands of degree level study.
