Job Description
This is a fantastic opportunity to join the Digital Science Team to lead the implementation of a Global Laboratory Management System Solution (LIMS) & Electronic Laboratory Notebook (ELN) and actively participate in making abcam's Lab-of-the-Future vision happen. In this role you will facilitate coordination within the LIMS team and cross-functionally to deliver LIMS features that drive highest customer value and business impact. You will have ultimate responsibility to develop product strategy and roadmap and ensure their alignment with the customer needs. You will have a deep understanding of both the LIMS product and the abcam business, especially R&D and Manufacturing in order to build relationships with senior stakeholders, manage their expectations and influence the outcomes. You will be a strategic thinker for driving business opportunities to leverage the LIMS platform, championing change and innovation. You will join a team who is committed to delivering high quality and beneficial digital products to our abcam scientific community.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
- Partner with R&D, Manufacturing & Marketing stakeholders to develop product roadmap, prioritise decisions, drive planning and goal setting
- Identify and report on metrics that drive the domain
- Communicate progress, risks and opportunities to key stakeholders
- Champion agile ways of working and solution delivery at pace
- Monitor and optimise issues and opportunities arising, own resolution and activities within the team
- Collaborate with Business Analysts to identify Epics, Stories, Tasks and curate the requirements backlog
- Assess quality of a release and manage risks associated with deployment
- Manage all funding, resource planning, recruitment and new resource onboarding
- Work with the solution architect to provide architectural design across platforms and data models supporting system implementation
- Align with 3rd party stakeholders to ensure timely delivery and support
- Champion the internal customer throughout the product process
Qualifications
You will have proven experience of working within software solutions destined to support R&D and Manufacturing teams within biotech or pharma industry in a senior capacity. You will be technically competent with hands-on experience across the digital product lifecycle. You will have good knowledge of SaaS software implementation with a deep understanding of LIMS & ELN features and capabilities. You will also have experience with data and software architecture.
You will have strong product delivery and management skills and will be adept at dealing with a changing environment, competing priorities and timelines. You will have excellent verbal and written communication skills and will be able to explain complex technical concepts to a less technical audience as well as work with Architects and specialists. You will be a true team player, keen to share your knowledge and skills.
Ideally, you will be well versed in supplier and vendor management and have experience of ensuring that proposals, statements of work and contracts are reviewed and ensure they hit project deliverables and milestones.
You will be passionate about new technologies and innovations within the Lab-of-the-Future space. You should be able to enthuse others on the subject and impart to the abcam business, the benefits the LIMS platform can offer and how to utilise it to its fullest.
