Job Description
As we continue to grow, we now have an exciting opportunity for a Team Leader in the Cell Engineering Team. You will join a rapidly growing group focused on generating a large collection of physiologically relevant cellular models for the scientific community.
As a Team Leader, you will ensure the delivery of large quantity of CRISPR edited cell lines on target and to the highest quality standard at each stage of the cell engineering process. You will play a pivotal role in our day to day output creating exciting environment of cutting edge automation technologies. A successful candidate will show a strong record in using automation for cell line development and managing small teams.
You will primarily manage a team of 5-6 people, manage our cell line pipeline by interacting with cross-functional teams (supplier chains, product teams and program management) and balance this with some laboratory-based activities. You will contribute and present data in meetings to help drive project progression. You will be expected to stay up to date with scientific literature, maintaining a solid awareness of emerging technologies that could be deployed to strengthen our platforms.
Qualifications
You will have a PhD in Biology or a related discipline along with at least 5 years industry experience in addition to your academic roles. You have experience with managing a cell line generation pipeline, genome-wide CRISPR/Cas9 library screening along with NGS and NGS data analysis. You will have some leadership experience in a small team environment along with automation and liquid handling skills.
You are a committed, enthusiastic and motivated person with enthusiasm for automated processes and line management of small teams. Having relevant technical knowledge, analytical skills, problem-solving abilities and a passion for learning is required. As this is a constantly developing field, you will need to be swiftly responsive, adaptable and able to deliver impact quickly with new tasks and new technologies. You are a real team worker, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, able to respond to change.
It would be really great if you have experience with end to end generation of edited cells using CRISPR/ CAS 9 technologies, cell-based assays and high content imaging, along with laboratory automation and information management systems
