Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled expert in immunodetection to join the Antibody and Biochemical Assay Validation group within the Characterisation Team.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about validating high quality antibodies.

The Characterisation Team is part of the Antibody Validation and Characterization Group and plays a key role in the validation and characterization of new antibodies. It plays a key role in validating the quality of our products before they are delivered to our customers.

Reporting directly to the Antibody and Biochemical Assay Validation team leader you will be an expert in immunodetection techniques including Western blot and ELISA. You will be collaborating with other labs across the world on new products and key research and development. You will have a proven track record of delivering projects with impressive results as well as an ability to teach and mentor others.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring high quality validation of new antibodies
  • Lead a small team to deliver quality validation
  • Streamline current processes with a focus on continuous improvements and new and improved methods.
  • Communicate clearly with project managers and interacting with team leaders, providing delivery dates, updates, and the necessary documentation.
  • Ability to prioritize and balance multiple projects to meet timelines
  • Highly effective analytical and problem-solving skills, including excellent attention to detail

Qualifications

You will have a PhD in Biology or a related subject along with a number of years industry experience post your academic studies. You have practical and theoretical experience with both Western Blot and ELISA techniques along with understanding and experience with IP - ChIP and IPMS. You have knowledge of CRISPR/ CAS9 technology to generate modified cell lines and protein biophysical analysis, including HPLC, mass spec, DLS and Tm measurements would be useful.

You have experience of managing a small team which includes coaching, mentoring and driving performance in an industry setting along with being a real team player and able to contribute to the wider teams. If this sounds like you and you want a role that really can make a difference, apply now!
