The Global Brand Sponsorships and Experiential Marketing team leads 40+ partnerships internationally, and oversees the ticket access, live event and digital engagement platforms across Card Member passion points of sports, music and various other cultural interests (B2B & B2C).
Reporting to the Vice President of International Experiences & Centre of Excellence, this London-based role will oversee partnerships related to our international sports teams and international venues. They will lead a cross-functional workstream of internal stakeholders and external agencies to develop, launch and measure fully integrated activation plans to drive key brand results. The candidate should be a strong relationship-builder, able to seamlessly work across business lines, markets, and external partnerships with finesse and collaboration, to deliver both brand and business value. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in the partnership space, with experience spanning both sports and entertainment industries.
Some travel required to execute onsite programs and nurture internal partnerships. This role may be subject to additional background verification checks.
How will you make an impact in this role?
- Spearhead the strategy, creative development, and execution of American Express’ international sports and venues partnership activations, bringing our assets to life for consumers in new, innovative ways
- Collaborate with robust set of internal and external agency partners across Brand Planning, Media, Digital Products, Social/Advertising and PR to develop and execute plans surrounding our international partnerships
- Own and manage large-scale budgets in partnership with Finance team, ensuring close understanding of internal processes and delivering projects that meet or come in under budget
- Develop relationships across the American Express enterprise to further understand business goals and deliver value through experiential portfolio where possible
- Create and present activation plans in strategic, clear manner to American Express executives
- Partner in the collection, analysis and reporting of key program metrics against set objectives
- Represent American Express to the sports and entertainment industry to deepen our relationships, knowledge, and development to continue to be on the cutting edge of fan engagement strategies
- Embrace innovation and digital strategies by staying at the forefront of breakthrough technology and customer engagement tactics
Minimum Qualifications:
- Significant experience in sponsorship, brand marketing/media and partnerships
- Passion for sports and entertainment and the surrounding cultural space with an entrepreneurial drive to put Amex at the forefront of culture in these spaces
- Proven track record leading partners, cross-functional teams and agencies; strong leader and skilled collaborator with ability to bring people along across various disciplines to get to the final plan
- Ability to work autonomously, moving projects forward in an efficient manner with minimal oversight
- Ability to work under pressure within compressed timelines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as executive presence
- Focus on innovation and constant appetite to know and learn more about the industry – including media, technology, payment innovations and competitive landscape
- Strong measurement and analytical skills
- University degree or equivalent experience
