The Enterprise Digital & Data Solutions team is responsible for leading the development of all core products and services across all digital channels. We partner closely with colleagues across the company to design and build experiences that globally drive value for our customers. Our goal is to build superb, branded journeys, that drive outstanding digital experiences that adhere to our high standards for accessibility and inclusion.
Loyalty & Guest is a small team but has significant impact, we oversee and support design for Membership Rewards & Benefits, Amex Guest Homepage (Prospect and Card Members) experiences for our Card Members. The team sits within a larger design group of 100+ talented Product Designers, UX Writers, Researchers, Data Analyst and design operations and work hip to hip with our Product Partners. Loyalty & Guest's primary goal is to improve continuity and cohesion across the end-to-end digital experiences and tools for our customers to manage their loyalty programs and benefits they get access to through their membership with American Express. Within this space, the focus areas are Vision, Strategy, Experience, Patterns and Tools.
As a Senior Product Designer, you will serve as a conduit between strategy and execution. You will help establish a shared vision, define holistic user experiences, build adaptive experiences, design frameworks, support optimizing processes, support building and identify/help drive consistent design patterns and experiences across our web products.
The ideal candidate has strong design and critical thinking skills, with solid experience and practice in visual design, they can zoom out to understand the big picture and zoom in to identify effective ways of improving the whole. To succeed in this role, the Product Designer must have the ability to capture and present complex ideas in simple ways.
How will you make an impact in this role?
- Manage and mentor an Associate Designer
- Support and mentor Junior Designers across the team
- Elevate the overall quality of UX/UI design of the digital experiences for core journeys and products within the Amex Membership Loyalty Program
- Deliver ideation and prototypes in both hi- and lo-fidelity, using pen & paper and digital tools
- Cross functional, cross disciplinary collaboration with product, content writing, research and engineering
- Own the end-to-end strategy and delivery of complex workstreams within the portfolio, using UX frameworks and methodologies to capture and consolidate ideas into a clear and tangible experience strategy
- Partner with research and analytics teams to validate ideas and concepts
- Identify and document design patterns and contribute to the advancement our enterprise design system
- Support team with stakeholder management and presentation
- Champion coherence, connectedness, and continuity of the end-to-end experiences
Minimum Qualifications:
- 5+ years UX/Product Design Experience
- Demonstrate experience solving for large scale, complex projects with moving parts such as interconnected journeys or similar
- Experience presenting complex concepts and ideas clearly and concisely
- Experience consulting across multiple projects, teams, or organizations
- Strong design portfolio demonstrating visual design skills & knowledge for accessibility, responsive and adaptive web design
- Demonstrate comfort with ambiguity and ability to form structure where there is none
- Experience with identifying and documenting design patterns
- Experience running UX Workshop a plus
- Experience working in a heavily regulated industry (financial services preferred) a plus
- Role will be based out of London, UK and will be hybrid in-office and virtual in accordance with Amex Flex enterprise policy Fully virtual employees will not be considered
- Must be eligible to work in the UK
- Experience using tools including Airtable, Mural, Confluence, Sketch, Figma, InVision, Excel, Powerpoint
