Enterprise Bill Payments and Payment Instruments (EBPPIs) mission is to power best-in-class issuer agnostics bill payment experiences and business growth through innovative platform products and services. By seamlessly integrating solutions to power innovative payment experiences for American Express customers. EBPPI collects over a trillion dollars in 27 markets covering 20+ of the biggest schemes: (ACH, BACS, SEPA) with a roadmap to integrate with emergent bill pay solutions and hide the complexity of handling money. A critical part of the roadmap is to develop the next generation Card Bill Pay and Biller platform capabilities. At its core, the team’s business architect will be responsible for platform process governance, documentation of capabilities, the platform roadmap and driving innovation into our capabilities. The role will have the support of a direct report focused on EBPPI data architecture.
How will you make an impact in this role?
- The domain architect over bill payments, payment instruments and notification to our downstream partners
- Instilling process across Product Managers capabilities to empower them to update and maintain capabilities in line with industry movement and Amex specific strategy
- Work across our product management function to help the product managers determine what capabilities the platform needs to fulfill business demand
- Define and maintain our overarching strategy and roadmap for bill payments and payment instruments
- Work closely with Staff Engineers and enterprise architecture functions to determine where we could move faster through strategic assets and support of 3rd parties
- Ensure a close linkage between the application flows and domain construct of capabilities within EBPPI
- Support business teams with intake and engagement processes to help them determine what EBPPI functions they could re-use or are looking to improve
- Maintain a view of the external billing landscape and be able to translate industry movement into capabilities that ensure business value for EBPPI and American Express
Minimum Qualifications:
- Experience with working payments in product management, engineering or architecture roles
- Experience mentoring Product Managers, Engineers, and Designers in how to work together to build great products
