Enterprise Digital & Data Solutions (EDDS) develops and scales high-impact, mobile-centric and personalized digital experiences, powered by data & analytics, throughout the customer lifecycle. EDDS Operational Excellence enables profitable business growth and exceptional customer experiences driving excellence, speed and agility across products, platforms, processes and capabilities. Through the design and implementation of an effective framework, the EDDS Ops Excellence Team will ensure the EDDS organization is fulfilling on its obligations to customers and has a robust control environment operating in compliance with evolving global regulations.
In line with Amex’s “three lines of defense” approach to risk management, the Operational Excellence team (First Line of Defense) actively works with Second Line of Defense (Global Risk, Compliance, Privacy) and Third Line of Defense (Internal Audit) teams to ensure adequate implementation of risk management framework requirements.
How will you make an impact in this role?
The Analyst, EDDS Operational Excellence, will become part of a high performing team to deliver on the EDDS Operational Excellence vision and objectives. Under the Sr Manager, EDDS Operational Excellence, the Analyst will assist first line of defense operational risk activities for Digital and Data initiatives.
The Analyst, EDDS Operational Excellence will be responsible for:
- Assist in providing guidance to Product & Process Owners related to internal policies, standards and external requirements
- Assist in the implementing and maintaining the governance framework to enable effective risk oversight and decision-making
- Supporting enhancements and changes to BU-specific procedures and additional BU standards (i.e., New Product Governance BU Standards)
- Manage and track new product governance action items and requirements to ensure execution in line with policy and regulatory requirements
- Document, maintain and track the inventory of in flight and in pipeline new, modified or decommission initiatives
Minimum Qualifications
- Technical risk management skill set, ideally with experience supporting global platforms, processes or capabilities
- Project management experience of complex and large-scale multi-market change initiatives
- Independent, self-motivated, with an ability to adapt and be flexible in a team environment
- Creative and highly collaborative approach to solving business problems
- Ability to challenge the status quo
- Ability to learn quickly, “connect the dots” with a strong track record of developing ideas from concept to deployment and delivering win-win solutions for the business
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, alongside excellent analytical skills
- University degree or higher or equivalent work experience
