External Supply and Manufacturing (ESM) supports the Operations strategy by establishing and managing suppliers across the world that meet our global standards. Through external suppliers, the team manages approximately one third of AstraZeneca’s value of production. ESM plays a key role in ensuring the external supply chains are robust and deliver value to AstraZeneca through driving continuous improvement.
The team also supports New Product Introduction through external supply, plays a pivotal role in integrating companies and products that AstraZeneca acquires and bringing innovation through supply chain programmes e.g. Market Access.
The role:
The Digital, Data & Systems (DDS) team is leading the digital transformation for ESM to achieve our aspiration of building a digital organisation with integrated systems and processes enabling seamless and efficient connection to supplier to deliver overall ESM Strategy. Digital will be driven by simplified and improved tools, E2E accurate data from one Source of Truth and analytics to give better insights and faster decision making.
The role of the Process & Analytics Lead is a key member of the DDS leadership team and is to lead the implementation of the analytics strategy as well as ensure process governance across ESM in line with DDS strategy.
Main Accountabilities:
Delivering agreed ESM analytics strategy through your team in line with DDS strategy and you'll be an active member of the DDS leadership team.
Develop processes to support the DDS plan and develop a governance structure to ensure adherence to these standards across ESM.
Accountable for leading a team of analytics managers and process experts to support the ESM organisation.
Collaborate with and influence stakeholders in and out of ESM to deliver agreed plans in their area.
Essential skills & experience
Education requirements: a BS degree or equivalent in Business, Logistics, Sciences or Engineering is preferred, equivalent experience will be taken in to account
Experience of operating in a global environment
Change management and problem solving
Significant supply chain understanding and knowledge
Experience in leading cross functional and cross-cultural teams
Line management experience with a track record of coaching and developing people
Experience of managing complexity and high levels of change
Issue management skills
Compliance awareness (SOX, Quality, Product security, etc).
Good communication skills
Lean experience demonstrated continuous improvement and proficient in using key Lean Tools: VSM, PPS
Desirable:
Strong Project management skills
Experience of contract manufacturing organizations
Experience of developing business cases
Experience of Pharmaceutical industry
ERP / Planning systems (e.g SAP ECC, S4/HANA, APO, APS etc)
Analytics tools e.g PowerApps, PowerBI, QlikSense, Snowflake etc
