ABOUT THE ROLE

In this exciting opportunity, the Senior Strategy Programme Manager will lead one or a set of interrelated enterprise IT and CIO projects/programmes focused on strategy deployment, business performance management, portfolio management and transformation. As an influencer of people, this program leader will manage the programme to deliver of our multi-year Global IT strategy whilst, maintain transparency of achievement of strategic outcomes, and lead by example in modelling our new ways of working.

As a change ambassador and practitioner, this programme manager must have extensive experience in both developing strategic plans and delivering them at scale in a complex, global organization, and be fluent in measuring tangible outcomes and determining and delivering solutions to approved budget and schedule commitments. Focus areas include stakeholder management (varies by organization), performance reporting, risk management and delivery of business benefit. This role is also required to follow established project management standards and lead / contribute to continued development of the project / programme management capability.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage the IT Strategy Life Cycle, continuous alignment of corporate and IT strategies, and IT strategic programs

  • Ensure expected benefits are consistent with project deliverables and understood by all stakeholders

  • Manage the strategic IT relationship with senior IT leaders

  • Build cohesive cross-functional teams and provide the leadership necessary to maximize the team’s success

  • Illustrate connections between business and IT strategies, priorities and challenges, building organizational understanding of the relationships between business priorities and IT needs

  • Interlock & manage interdependencies between projects and programme workstreams, maintaining a set of visualizations for on-demand status communications

  • Manage issues, escalating as needed, and ensure standardized change and other programme processes are in place to effectively deliver programme outcomes

  • Manage changes to project/programme scope, ensuring all impacts and changes are approved and appropriately communicated to stakeholder groups

  • Assure / develop service transition plans to ensure deliverables are sustainable within a BAU operations environment

  • Create & deliver internal “marketing campaigns” that highlight achievement of strategic outcomes and new ways of working to build excitement and engagement that drives deeper cross-functional participation— “bringing the strategy to life”

  • Proactively manage budgets, forecasts, tasks, schedules, quality, risks, change management, and status

  • Support effective decision-making through steering / stakeholder / review board meetings and reporting

  • Manage tools and processes to measure strategic delivery

ESSENTIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Technical or Business Degree or proven relevant experience

  • Proven skills and experience managing and controlling large project and programme budgets.

  • Experience managing and leading global project teams

  • Evidence of shaping innovative solutions that have a major impact within the business area and organisation

  • Experience working in a global organization where stakeholders and project team members are geographically dispersed.

  • Proven relevant experience as a PM or equivalent role

  • Strong Project and Progamme Management Skills

  • Strong Change Management/Leadership skills

  • A capable knowledge of Financial Management and Benefits Delivery practices

  • Broad understanding of IT systems and technology implemented within a business context.

  • Excellent communication and relationship management skills

  • Excellent business acumen with sensitivity to environment
