The Transformation leader role in R&D for Clinical will focus on helping x-functional R&D teams globally with digital, data and analytics to achieve study designs and execution plans that can achieve accelerated timelines, reduce cost, improve patient experience and reduce carbon emissions. Through reducing manual work load and complexity we will enable teams to focus on the science vs the process steps and manual work required to get to governance.
Typical Accountabilities:
Lead the cross functional teams supporting transformation programs in Clinical Innovation
Lead the strategy and vision for the products in this area, in collaboration with the senior leaders across all therapeutic areas in AstraZeneca, Development Operations and cross functional teams involved in clinical development
Identify and solve both strategic issues and provide recommendations at digital health leadership level across R&D.
Lead the cross-functional delivery teams, across multiple agile teams and set clear strategic direction by clarifying priorities and rational. Responsible for stimulating conceptual thinking and creativity across the team and challenging the status quo for continuous improvement.
You will need a deep understanding of business needs and users’ needs within a pharma R&D process to transform ways of working and achieve required outcomes.
Deliver high-quality, hypothesis tested, business requirements, functional specifications, business processes, and system rules.
Deliver effective prioritization regarding the cross portfolio backlog items in order to deliver maximum outcome with minimum input in line with business prioritizes.
Review, analyze and evaluate business systems/processes and user-needs while serving as the key link between digital and IT development teams.
Lead the risk management framework and report risks to advise senior collaborators on areas for attention and solutions.
Influence key senior partners and provide clear & concise advice including recommendations to aid good decision-making.
Provide coaching & mentoring for colleagues and assist with their personal development.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or above in a relevant field.
Strong knowledge of pharma development processes.
Experience leader of cross functional global teams. Demonstrated leadership in developing strategy and vision within a large organization and delivery of outcomes.
Shown experience of Agile software development as a Head of Product with clear outcomes on product delivery of outcomes and agility.
Proven skills and experience in defining a clear scope and roadmap to develop sophisticated solutions
Validated skills and experience leading and controlling sophisticated projects (with strong business and IT components) and activities in a multicultural context
Diligence – attention to detail and ability to run a large program of concurrent activities
Confirmed experience in applying a business-driven user-centric approach to product feature discovery and delivery.
Clear value delivery and quality on previous products.
Experience working in a large global organization where collaborators and project team members are geographically dispersed and handled through a matrix organization.
Outstanding communication, presentation, facilitation, storytelling, consulting and leadership skills and ability to interact with senior leaders
Excellent interpersonal and time leadership skills
Experience of defining the business strategies and influencing the key collaborators of the vision for the business area
Experience defining strategies and approaches to AI/ML model monitoring, maintenance and management
