SITE DESCRIPTION
This role can be based at any one of our 3 sites including, Macclesfield, Luton or Cambridge.
What you’ll do
We are in the process of transforming to a cloud-native data platform, Snowflake, and are looking for someone who can join us at this crucial point. You’ll be integral in leading, shaping and building the platform, whilst guiding the processes and best practices for its use across large scale greenfield and migration projects. As lead engineer you will be responsible for the end-to-end engineering efforts (including build, configuration, integration, automation, deployment, support and for streamlining implementation).
You’ll drive the technical direction of the platform, ensuring we have the right security, rigour, integrations, and automation to work efficiently, safely and at speed.
Deliver effective platform support & service management, ensuring key service metrics and KPIs are governed, maintained, and improved progressively
Advocate and advance modern, agile development practices and help develop and evangelise great engineering culture
As lead engineer, you will help with hiring, coaching, mentoring, feedback, and hands-on career development
Essential for the role
- You have proven ability to work with Snowflake or similar enterprise data management platforms
- Strong technical management experience who can lead a global and diverse workforce
- You have good exposure to RDBMS concepts and experience working with SQL programming to query Snowflake metadata to gather insights and visualize on Platform usage, adoption, service operational status.
Desirable for the role
- SnowPro Core Certifications (Ideally SnowPro Advanced: Administrator)
- Experience in Data Security, Data Protection and Data Impact Assessments
- Experience with other data engineering technologies (ETL, Cataloging, Visualisation)
