The Sustainability Reporting Manager will be responsible for consolidation, analysis, and preparation of the external reports, including the annual sustainability report, CDP, TCFD, and others. Further, the role holder will work to ensure compliance with existing and future reporting regulations.

This person will be a key point of contact for senior management, external stakeholders and internal collaboration with colleagues and peers, in respect of external reporting matters and technical queries.

Summary

You will be joining the Sustainability Reporting and Disclosures team within Global Sustainability, an experienced team of specialists with many different skills, aligned to a common objective – Working towards a future where all people have access to sustainable healthcare solutions for life-changing treatment and prevention.

You will demonstrate exceptional insights, knowledge and influencing skills to be able to bring diverse opinions together, meeting the needs of multiple internal and external stakeholders. To do this you will develop close collaboration with cross-functional colleagues across brand teams, Finance, Regulatory, Government Affairs, Operations, our local affiliates/marketing companies, as well as within the Sustainability group and possibly across alliances.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

    Advance AstraZeneca’s Global Sustainability Reporting and Governance strategy to articulate our vision and progress, while aligning to evolving external expectations.

      Ensure that AstraZeneca’s reports and disclosures are compliant with current and upcoming regulation, including SEC Climate Change Disclosures, ISSB, EU ESRS, others.

        Lead our annual Sustainability Report to reflect our progress and ambition for sustainability.

          Partner with the business to translate the Global Sustainability strategies and regulations into a clearly articulated, actionable plan with key deliverables that are accurately measured and reported upon.

            Proactively liaising with departments to instigate process improvement and finding synergies in the current reporting process.

              Responsible for the consolidation, reconciliation, and preparation of annual, monthly, and quarterly reports as required along with supporting note disclosures as reported to senior management.

                Lead collaborative efforts with key external partners to ensure our strategy is meeting/exceeding the expectations of our stakeholders.

                  Landscape scanning, trend assessments, and risk forecasting for sustainability with a focus across our three pillars, Access to Healthcare, Environmental Protection and Ethics and Transparency.

                    Support the submission to external rankings and ratings, including CSA (DJSI), CDP, ATMi, Sustainalytics, MSCI, others.

                    Essential Requirements

                      Experience in sustainability, corporate social responsibility, or similar.

                        Good working knowledge of some of the existing and upcoming sustainability reporting regulations such as SEC Climate Change Disclosures, TCFD, ISSB, EU ESRS, others.

                          Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills with a track record of delivering high-quality deliverables to tight deadlines.

                            Several years of previous project leadership experience.

                              Detail orientated and with good time and project management skills, with ability to manage conflicting priorities.

                                Ability to make reasoned decisions under pressure.

                                  Ability to take people with you and bring the best out of others.

                                    Excellence and precision in communication: credible and persuasive.

                                      Exceptional business acumen, strategic thinking, and ability to translate theory into action.

                                        Strong written and verbal communication.

                                          Excellent IT skills, including a strong proficiency in Excel.

                                          Desired Requirements

                                            Experience leading external sustainability disclosures, including for annual reports/sustainability reports, CSA, CDP, TCFD, others.

                                              Graduate or Masters degree in law, business, economics, engineering, or sustainability-related areas.
