The role:

This is a clinical planning role reporting into the Director of Planning, Clinical Manufacturing & Supply (CM&S). You will be required to establish the processes and ways of working for short and mid-term planning at an asset level and then pilot these processes to demonstrate the benefits.

You'll establish Network Supply Planning across CM&S which includes both internal and external assets. This will include developing and then running the Supply and Operational Excellence (S&OE) process and develop the inputs into the Demand & Operational Planning process where resources and asset capacity is discussed for the whole clinical portfolio.

Network Supply Planning will be the gate keeper of the operational supply plan and the liaison between the external supplier / internal asset and internal CM&S study / project facing roles ensuring that a constrained executable supply plan is maintained.

What you'll do:

  • Leadership of the project to establish network supply planning and the S&OE process in accordance with the standard project and change management frameworks.

  • Influence and clearly communicate the business value of the scope of this project within CM&S, with external suppliers and any other relevant stakeholders and demonstrate delivery of benefits.

  • Work with IT and Digital Groups to develop a way to visualise the net requirements and capacity picture for an asset (working with external sourcing for capacity at suppliers).

  • Create, develop and maintain a cross-product / cross-clinical trial constrained supply plan, taking into account: demand requirements, supplier / internal asset available capacity, lead times and commitments and waste targets

  • Develop and then run the S&OE process and data needed to support the process.

  • Perform initial impact assessment of identified issues, determine appropriate stakeholders, make necessary decisions & monitor resolution.

  • Develop appropriate material and inputs into the Demand & Operational Planning process

  • Develop, maintain and publish information on asset metrics & KPI’s

  • Approve expediting requests and deviations from standard lead times (tolerance/contractual rules)

  • Ensure that constrained executable supply plans are communicated to the supply chain management group, filtering, evaluating and prioritizing options upfront

Essential skills & experience:

  • Prior experience in supply chain environment (Manufacturing, Planning)

  • Advanced supply chain (inventory, capacity and network) planning skills

  • Proven delivery of supply chain projects within a global environment and demonstration of following a project management framework

  • Digital savvy ( data & system minded)

  • Experience in managing and developing solutions for supply chain events.

  • Capacity management & modelling

  • Understanding of supply chain planning parameters, master data and master data integrity & quality.

  • Experience in collaboration with the key interfaces within the end to end supply chain, with manufacturing and between supply chain and commercial functions

  • Excellent communications and collaboration skills required to manage a multitude of customers and stakeholders.

  • Proficient in using key Lean Tools

Desirable:

  • A degree or equivalent in Business, Logistics, Sciences or Engineering is preferred, equivalent experience will be taken into account.

  • APICS / CSCP or equivalent certification

  • Lean certification

  • Clinical experience

  • Leadership experience
