Job holder will contribute to shaping implementing and managing a Data Policy that balance benefit and risk for responsible reuse - in concert with data customers, CMO, legal, data privacy, information security, and corporate risk and compliance offices.

Contributing to strategy and execution that builds strong relations and effective and efficient business processes with internal and external partners and collaborators, based on excellent insight of customer needs, Legal, Ethical, and Security considerations, and standard methodology for Data Policy.

Critical member of the Policy Operational Team and contributor to wider R&D Data Policy strategy.

Accountabilities

Job holder will be working on shaping, implementing and managing a Data policy that balance benefit and risk for responsible reuse and will be required to employ a range of skills including policy expertise, project management, knowledge of external regulations e.g. global data privacy regulations such as GDPR and clinical trial regulations and have an ability to develop strong relations and effective business processes with internal partners.

Job holder will be working together with a broad set-of partners, including members in the Data Office but also together with data customers, data privacy, legal, information security, and corporate risk and compliance offices. Job holder will be working on projects to continuously improve R&D / Enterprise-wide processes for Data Policy and reuse;

  • Contribute to forums shaping policy

  • Maintain and co-ordinate key data protection assurance activities – Record of Processing Activities (ROPA) / Privacy Impact Assessment (PIA)

  • Lead defined projects related to risk mitigation and compliance for data re-use and use

  • Support internal partners with advice and guidance relating to data protection and shaping data sharing projects (internal & collaboration) according to policy

  • Lead defined policy implementation projects e.g. Legal and Informed Consent Framework

  • Contribute to compliance checks to ensure data re-use / use processes follow policy

Essential

  • Relevant degree in Information/Data Science, Computer Science, Informatics, IT, Medical, life sciences, Legal or other related subject area.

  • Experience of pharma and the life sciences

  • Experience working in Data Protection

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to build strong relationships.

  • Strong project or programme management skills

  • Excellent organisational skills, and ability to juggle different projects/priorities and deliver high quality outcomes under pressure

Desirable

  • Experience of achieving tangible and acknowledged value in a similar position and scale of challenge and opportunity.

  • Change Management track record.
