What you’ll do:

  • Strategic lead for HTA (Health Technology Appraisal) engagements.
  • Lead a team to deliver high quality evidence submissions to HTA bodies and drive access to AZ products in the UK Market


  • HTA submissions to NICE/SMC/AWMSG, and input to national clinical guidelines within their Franchise responsibility
  • National Access Strategies for the Vaccines & Immune Therapies franchise
  • Negotiating with complex matrix of global and local partners on UK HTA strategy
  • Effectively engages with key external agencies to enable access for AZ Vaccines & Immune Therapies products
  • Work with Head of Strategic Pricing, Marketing, Medical, Government Affairs and Policy to shape National value propositions to drive uptake of products
  • Work with Government Affairs to craft the external access environment to enable improved access opportunities for their franchise

Essential skills and experience:

  • Degree in economics or life sciences or pharmacy qualification
  • Proven Market Access leadership experience within the pharma industry
  • Demonstrated successes across UK HTA/National Access engagements
  • Experience in AZ strategic therapy areas, especially oncology
  • Evidence of team working and accountability


  • Master’s degree in Health Economics, Evidence based medicine, Epidemiology or related field
  • Experience of leading teams
  • Advanced Excel and data handling
  • Experience of health economic modelling
  • Other proven experience beyond health economics (e.g. NHS)
