As Director SAP S/4HANA Master Data Governance & Policy you will be responsible for providing global leadership and expertise on configuration and utilization of SAP MDG solutions as a key governing tool/process for SAP Master Data for developing and implementing a range of Data Governance strategies with respect to SAP reference and master data. Providing strategic leadership in data governance strategy & operations, data standards management, data quality management, data policy, compliance & risk management, data cleansing and migration for conversation from legacy SAP systems to S/4HANA.
You will provide leadership to manage a diverse range of activities through others with responsibility for owning/building and implementing the Enterprise Data governance strategy.
What you’ll do
Data Governance Strategy and Operations
Responsible for the development of Global Data SAP S/4HANA Governance strategy, goals and roadmap for the Enterprise scope in S/4HANA and related systems
Strategic leadership of design and implementation of Global Data Governance Framework which supports the overall strategy.
Secure effective and transparent capture, prioritization and execution of stakeholder needs, including the various enterprise data offices in AstraZeneca.
Strategic leadership and overall ownership of SAP S/4HANA Data Governance forums, and coordination across other inline Data Office forums.
Oversight of, and active leadership based on, reporting on performance of data governance processes, standards, quality and compliance.
Data Policy, Compliance and risk management
Assure SAP S/4HANA Data governance remains aligned with AZ global Data policies.
Responsible for devising strategies in order to raise data policy compliance levels within the business.
Data Standards and Quality management
Set the strategy and lead the global implementation of the Data Governance framework, metrics and forums for S/4HANA.
Assist in cross-functional development of Data Standards, including Master data, Reference data and Metadata.
Set the strategy and execute on Data Cleanse and Migration activities in support of migration from legacy SAP systems in partnership with process owners, systems and IT owners.
Develop the S/4HANA system Data Quality strategy for the organisation (primarily Operations and Finance functions), and secure its execution across functions, to raise data quality (interacting with in-line/BAU data offices across the organization).
Identify relevant stakeholders, establish cross-functional priorities to direct Data Quality metrics and oversee continuous remediation across functional borders in S/4HANA.
Direct the development of Data Quality guidelines and rules, and influence cross-functional adoption.
Lead the creation of effective global procedures to ensure that each data asset is governed throughout its lifetime incorporating requirements such as accountability, stewardship, integrity, auditability and standardisation.
Influence key senior stakeholders, to maintain alignment to data quality and governance strategy.
Leadership, Improvement and Change
Definition and execution of mission, vision, strategy, goals, roadmap and metrics for the function.
Strategic leadership of change and improvement of data literacy, culture and compliance, including cross-functional, senior leader engagements and projects.
Representation of AZ externally, and the promotion of AZ position and value proposition in this space.
Essential for the role
Significant and proven experience and deep subject matter expertise within a relevant industry.
In-depth and demonstrated knowledge of standards, data management and IT management regulations, policies and principles, applicable to the Pharma industry.
Significant experience of Business/IT partnering for the implementation of Data Governance-related solutions.
Proficient knowledge and experience with regulated and/or legal environment and requirements (e.g., GxP, data privacy and security).
Demonstrated ability to lead in a diverse, global team, within and across functions.
Demonstrate strong communication skills with the ability to influence others to achieve objectives
Ability to lead and manage negotiations across a complex group, to a target outcome.
Proven change management, assertiveness and negotiation skills.
