As a Secondary Care Account Specialist, you will sell AstraZeneca brands to healthcare professionals across key secondary care customers, maximising opportunities for practice change at scale and always representing AstraZeneca’s high ethical standards.

You will be responsible for engaging with key hospital partners to expand sales volume and share. Working with the wider team you will generate customer/account insights, shaping the account plans to increase the number of patients on AZ brands.

Working with the cross-functional team and with customers, you will identify and deliver opportunities for practice change at a population level.

You will also develop and drive advocacy, and clinical consensus with the key customers and support RHMs on improving market access (formulary and guidelines) for the brand/s

In this role you will be:

  • Accountable for delivering and exceeding sales targets for allocated brand/s

  • Accountable for the delivery of account plan objectives

  • Accountable for effective territory management – e.g. understand local NHS priorities to develop and implement effective call plans

  • Deliver against all agreed individual and team metrics in order to achieve Account goals, investing resources and budgets in line with agreed plans/expenditures. You will ensure impact from the resource invested.

  • Demonstrates and maintains a high level of clinical, therapy area and environmental knowledge

  • Ensure compliance of all AZ Governance frameworks, SOPs and the ABPI.

  • Manage budget within +/- 3%

Essential for this role

  • Experience working within the therapy area of responsibility - CVRM / Diabetes

  • Successful sales experience, including primary and secondary both F2F and via virtual platforms

  • Strong Account Management skills

  • Qualified to ‘A’ level standard or equivalent

  • Full driving licence.

  • ABPI qualified (unless new to the representative role).

  • Speaking publicly with strong interpersonal, communication and influencing skills (both with customers and colleagues).

  • Strong NHS knowledge and understanding

  • Strong results focus.

  • Shows initiative and is self-starting.

  • High emotional intelligence proved through management of own attitude.

  • Strong IT and analytical skills

Desirable for this role

  • Market Access experience of gaining product position on guidelines
