Job Role
The Senior Portfolio Manager is responsible for managing the Commercial IT portfolio - currently estimated over $40M with over 70 in flight projects. The portfolio is delivered by the Commercial IT function supporting multiple AZ Commercial business units (BBU, OBU, International & Japan). This role will apply robust knowledge of portfolio management capabilities to improve practices, standards, reporting, and tools, and will demonstrate change management principles to drive the adoption of changes across the Commercial IT organization.
The successful candidate will connect multi-functional plans and resources to guide the Commercial IT organization and the broader business to enhance value and minimise risk in IT portfolio investments. They will build relationships with business and IT leaders to support strategic planning and project prioritisation to maintain focus on the organization’s strategic goals and objectives.

As the Senior Business Partner you will report to the Director of Business Partnering in IT's Strategy & Performance function.
Key Accountabilities
Serve as a strategic partner for the Commercial IT group through in-depth analysis and insight into demand, portfolio and resource management capabilities.
Drive full transparency of the Commercial IT Portfolio, support prioritisation and investment decision making with the Commercial IT leadership team and business partners.
Manage the IT portfolio process including demand management/intake, prioritisation through project approval.
Create new value with their expertise in portfolio capabilities of demand management, resource management, portfolio management and financial thinking to support informed business decisions.
Implement changes to portfolio management related processes in their corresponding partner communities
Lead the development of solutions to problems identified through business performance data or partner feedback
Communicate performance and trends to ITLT to identify risks at the earliest stage possible
Oversee the ongoing portfolio financial reporting and advance where decisions/re prioritisation may need to occur by governance group(s).
Proactively advance and resolve critical issues.
Effectively communicate and build relationships across the organization. Advocating for business needs and ensuring timely response.
Measure portfolio health, status, financials and variances against a baseline
Manage routine quarterly and annual budget submission processes including communicating timelines, collecting and reviewing forecasts with and providing transparency to partners.
Work cross-functionally with:
Functional leadership as the key interface and source of management of business performance against key indicators, areas of risk, and actions to mitigate risks
Functional leadership and wider IT team to create and own a Performance Improvement plan and to drive the implementation of a performance management culture based on effective measurement & continuous improvement
Essential Experience
BA/BSc degree required, MBA or advanced degree preferred in Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field
Key experience managing significant project portfolio(s)
Understanding of Lean Portfolio Management concepts & processes
Progressive experience in IT business or financial management
Extensive experience leading multi-functional teams (direct line management or matrixed)
Solid skills using the suite of Microsoft Office products
Educated in Waterfall and Agile portfolio, program, and project methodologies as well as product/platform delivery models
Ability to frame and lead strategic portfolio investment discussions with IT and business partners
Ability to apply a strategic perspective to improve value delivery and implement decisions/changes tactically
Passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving processes and partner experiences.
Applies critical thinking to existing environment to identify and implement process improvement opportunities.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines with attention to detail, communicate effectively and deliver presentations to senior leaders.
Comfortable and skilled in operating in a complex operational matrix organization across diverse, global teams
Effectively collaborates, influences, and leads teams, leaders and executives through good interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to guide conflict and drive resolution
Apply change management principles to implement change across the organization.
