Our Gaithersburg, Maryland facility crafts life-changing medicines for people around the world. Summary of the group:
At AstraZeneca, we built the Commercial Digital healthcare delivery team to accelerate our efforts to drive and partner on solutions that improve the ability for HCPs, patients, and Healthcare Systems to deliver the highest quality of care, enable patients to maximize the value of their healthcare experience and for AstraZeneca to lead innovation in collaborations across Markets, Institutes, and providers resulting in richer data collation and use, resulting in overall better care provision for the patients we serve.
Roles and responsibilities:
As the DSE Team’s Digital Innovation Strategist, you create customer value for AZ by supporting our mission to make our commercial digital innovation ecosystem more transparent & manageable by the business, more adaptable to internal & external opportunities, & more productive of scaled & impactful new uses of digital technology.
Support the discovery, identification, & evaluation of innovative ideas & opportunities. Guide the creation of cases, help build and lead pipeline processes, & help embed simple, effective innovation practices with our internal customers that empower them to invest more effectively in exploratory digital ideas without requiring direct global digital management.
Build strong internal networks and use these networks to build an always-on ability to identify, track, & report on commercial digital innovation initiatives & investments across all AZ TA’s and geographies.
Build reports, updates, POVs and other documents to support leadership decision-making processes & use your growing familiarity with our digital innovation practices to proactively raise opportunities to improve those practices.
Improve our digital innovation readiness by building tool sets & practices to give us consistent & broad proactive awareness of emerging technical advancements. Support the Innovation Mission Lead in the refinement, prioritization, & communication of the opportunities in these advancements.
Map, supervise our internal commercial digital innovation processes & collaborate to improve.
Co-create with CDH partner teams a shared framework for assessing innovation opportunities and implementing the process of digital innovation \Act as CDH SME/evangelist on user-centered design & work across the CDH verticals and our partners in R&D & Commercial to drive adoption of effective design thinking where it will deliver substantial, measurable impact.
Key initial focus and delivery includes:
Support or own key deliverables of the DSE Innovation Mission as needed, including Innovation opportunity landscapes & assessments for business leaders.
Partner with the DSE team and Mission Leads to support the successful transition/resolution of the current organization into the remit & structure.
Education and experience:
Bachelors with at least 5 years in the commercial digital business
Required skills:
Strong digital generalist with strong experience in digital innovation process management
Excellent capacity to reduce complicated technical topics to empathic and useful briefings
Good validated understanding of the current technology and strategic directions of the healthcare ecosystems we serve across multiple geographies.
Solid understanding of the core technologies behind digital marketing and digital health services, good understanding of speciality areas like AI/ML is valuable, and a voracious learning curve for new technology is vital.
Hypothesis-driven thinker with a strong attention to detail.
Demonstrated ability to “own” the definition & evolution of a new role within an established organization
Solid understanding of AZ’s retail & specialty pharmaceutical businesses and therapy areas—speak the business.
Ability to structure & deliver on sophisticated, detailed requirements with a strong sense of outcomes ownership
Highly developed communication and influencing abilities across interpersonal teams and levels in a large complex operating environment
Ability to express complex ideas in clear and compelling way to multiple external and internal team member groups
Bold with the highest level of integrity and the ability to foster trust and loyalty
Motivated by delivering digital innovation in service of improved patient outcomes and treatment experience
