JOB ROLE

The Cyber Security Associate Director Business Operations will be leading, developing and maintaining cyber security risk reduction initiatives embedded within each IT Business Technology Group, and in designated country businesses. This role will align the global Security Policy Framework to IT business functions. The Associate Director Business role is responsible for overseeing the internal information security needs of IT business functions and providing leadership and support for cyber risk management, policy development, regulatory compliance, data privacy and IT security operations.

Key Accountabilities

  • Develop and implement security policies, procedures, and operating practices.

  • Coordinate risk profile development and distribution to IT business facing audiences.

  • Maintain compliance with all AstraZeneca Security Policy Framework requirements.

  • Support cyber risk assessments and make recommendations to IT business facing leadership

  • Support with standard methodologies and appropriate technology solutions.

  • Help mature the AstraZeneca Cyber Security and Awareness education program and ensure appropriate training for all employees and contractors.

  • Create a business facing focused standard methodology risk dashboard and appropriate cyber security metrics.

  • Provide business facing leadership decision quality information regarding (but not limited to); identity account, service account, application, API, data, IT infrastructure, and user device vulnerability management

  • Maintain significant knowledge of Cyber threat vectors, attack methodologies and mitigation/remediation methods.

  • Maintain knowledge of SecDevOps processes and application security standard methodologies.

  • Develop applied third party risk management approach to business facing specific vendor partnerships.

  • Support cyber security assessments and penetration tests.

Essential experience & Skills

  • Extensive experience working in Security, in a complex, multinational, corporate environment

  • Demonstrable experience leading overseeing an information security function

  • Deep understanding of information security technologies, networking and network architecture required.

  • A global perspective on privacy, security, and data protection issues and trends

  • Expert at reducing cyber risk in a large, global enterprise.

  • Experience of working in other IT disciplines and across a range of industries and sectors.

  • Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills, autonomous working,

  • A relevant technical degree, competence or equivalent (CISSP, CISM, CCSP) and competence to lead various Security initiatives

  • Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills, autonomous working, direction and goal setting

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills along with the demonstrable ability to communicate sophisticated, technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences

  • Be valued and respected for collaboration, integrity and enablement

  • Experienced in developing and leading innovative solutions and “thinking outside of the box”

  • Ability to analyze complex situations, assessing risks and balancing strategic and tactical Security requirements with business pragmatism, risk appetite and innovation

  • Ability to prioritize, re-schedule and adapt to changes in a dynamic environment

  • Excellent eye for business with sensitivity to environment

  • Experience working in a global organization where partners and team members are geographically dispersed.
