Reporting to the Head Productivity Initiatives (PI), this is a fantastic opportunity to be the architect of functional processes, orchestrating, and implementing high standards, designed to transform our efficiency and effectiveness as a team.

This role will be responsible for leading the design, development, implementation and ongoing maintenance of the Governance and Assurance frameworks and processes that will enable GBS Productivity Initiatives to initiate and deliver projects on-time, on-budget and in adherence with quality and compliance standards. To be successful in this role, you will need to be proactive and have expert knowledge of best practice governance and assurance processes and standards.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead development, implementation and maintenance of the programme and project governance framework, processes and standards, including governance mechanisms e.g. change control
  • Design, develop, implement and maintain programme and project assurance processes
  • Ensure that governance is operating appropriately and efficiently and progressing in line with the governance framework and requirements/policies/procedures where applicable
  • Ensure consistency in approach and adherence to governance standards and deadlines
  • Monitor processes and performance, in order to identify, recommend and implement strategic solutions for process improvement initiatives within governance and assurance
  • Facilitate the identification, promotion and implementation of best practice
  • Review and revise practices to ensure their compliance with established statutory requirements, policies and procedures
  • Produce high-quality deliverables that can be socialised with business stakeholders

Education, Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

Essential:

  • Degree level qualification or professional Project Management qualification
  • Experience in programme and project management governance and assurance
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects/tasks effectively
  • Proven experience of change control management
  • Ability to work successfully across teams
  • Experience of operating at a senior level in a global organisation.
  • Proven ability of working in a complex environment, effectively managing multiple and frequently changing priorities
  • Impact, influence and collaborative partnering
  • Demonstrated ability to drive a process with no supervision

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of the AstraZeneca operating model and organisation
  • Understanding of external good practice
  • Experience of working within a quality and compliance environment and application of policies, procedures and guidelines
