ABOUT THE ROLE?
Strong Enterprise Architecture is the cornerstone of our Digital Transformation and fundamental to delivering on our AZ Ambitions and IT2025 Strategy. As the Senior Director Enterprise Architect you will be responsible for defining a world class enterprise architecture to meet the current and future needs of AstraZeneca and our broader ecosystem. You will lead a newly formed central team of Enterprise and Solution architects in defining the enterprise wide target state architecture, identifying innovative solutions, laying out the technology roadmap and supporting implementation projects.
This target state and roadmap will guide technology investment planning to reduce TCO and improve operational performance. The role is critical to the successful delivery interoperable solutions, reduction of technical debt and development of an enterprise wide integrated platform strategy.
WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?
Establishing Architecture as a strategic capability with deep thought leadership in the use of technology for competitive advantage and defining modern Architecture Strategy that supports our business architecture.
You will lead the transformation of AZ architecture & capability, into a fit for future organisation focused on upcoming technology trends, being thought leaders on next generation application / infrastructure, with strong external relations with other companies and leading Tech partners
Setting the Enterprise Architecture vision, strategy and mandate, aligned to business objectives and capabilities and driving the cultural change needed across AZ to move to an integrated architecture
You will understand and incorporate new technology trends to drive value for our business and improve patient outcomes
Delivering and maintaining Architectural Diagrams and ownership of CMDB, defining the artefacts, tools and technologies to support the effective delivery of architecture & implementing an Enterprise Reference model will all be part of your role, along with ensuring appropriate governance forums are in place
You will drive effective engagement across the IT organisation, SET Functions and other key stakeholders
WHAT SKILLS & EXPERIENCE DO YOU NEED?
- Proven experience in driving an integrated architecture that is based on business architecture
- Demonstrated experience leading a transformation to a platform architecture in a large scale, multi-national company
- Team Leadership – proven experience in managing diverse, global teams with ability to provide direction, understand resource capability and successfully drive results working with direct reports, dotted line and/or internal or external resources
- Demonstrable experience of coaching and mentoring an architecture team, protecting, growing, evolving and winning through others
- Proven experience of leading change and cultivating new ways of working across an organisation and driving adoption of solutions
- Relevant technical degree or equivalent
