We are committed to advancing the science of oncology to deliver life-changing medicines to people most in need. Our broad pipeline of next-generation medicines is focused on the disease areas of: breast, ovarian, lung, gastrointestinal, genitourinary and haematological cancers, using four key scientific approaches: immunotherapy, tumour drivers and resistance mechanisms, DNA damage response, and antibody-drug conjugates. Our ambition is to eliminate cancer as a cause of death through scientific discovery and collaborations.
What you’ll do
As Medical Affairs Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in channelling our scientific abilities into making a positive impact on patients’ lives. The team you’d be joining is dynamic, forward looking and has an industry leading set of existing and pipeline products.
As a Medical Affairs Manager you will be the clinical specialist delivering medical insight and governance into projects and activities supporting the Business Development and Cornerstone portfolio, in order to meet product and/or Therapy Area objectives, including Due Diligence activities. To transition key business development projects into Medical Affairs as the medical and data expert; Act to ensure GCP requirements are fully complied with and in line with the local Quality Management System (QMS) SOP and all other AZ policies and Standards.
Essential for this role
- Registered Physician (GMC), Pharmacist (General Pharmaceutical Council) or Scientist (PhD/MSc)
- Good knowledge of the ABPI Code of Practice
- Knowledgeable about the UK NHS landscape and set up
- Proven track record of interacting with external stakeholders
- Evidence of effective team working and accountability
- Proven project management skills
Desirable:
- Higher Degree in Oncology (e.g. PhD / MSc in Oncology)
- Member/Fellow of a Royal College of Physicians/Surgeons/GPs or the Royal Pharmaceutical Society
- Technical expertise in the allocated disease/therapy area
- The ABPI Final Signatory status
- Experience in evidence-generation project
