Job Description
We currently have an opening for a SAP ATTP Application Engineer to join us out of our site in Macclesfield, Cheshire. You will join a world leading pharmaceutical company which operates in over 100 countries and is head quartered in the United Kingdom.
This role joins the team for a large SAP support, development and maintenance team, spanning several SAP landscapes globally. The company is embarking on a multi-year business led ERP transformation which will see a migration to S/4 HANA and this role will be a key contributor to that project along with supporting the existing SAP estate and portfolio of work.
The team is responsible for ensuring that all changes introduced into the applications it supports are consistent with the target architecture; of high design quality; introduced in a timely, affordable and balanced manner with the minimal acceptable risk to ongoing operations.
You should possess broad knowledge in your domain as well as multi-functional integration points and a validated understanding across supply chain functions. In addition, you will have experience of serialization, tracking and tracing, and regulatory reporting of pharmaceutical products. You should have validated expertise in designing and supporting SAP ATTP landscapes. Knowledge and experience of other modules such as SD/MM/WM is a bonus.
Role and Responsibilities
Support the business in the provision of sufficiently detailed, clear and realistic business requirements
Work multi-functionally with other Application Engineers, internal AZ Global Innovation & Technology Centre and partner staff to ensure that designs are truly end to end and that non-functional as well as functional requirements are considered in the design
Work in close partnership with Release and Project Management to ensure timely and on-budget execution & delivery of application changes. Where the change is entirely an application change then the Application Engineer may be encouraged to own the change through its lifecycle – i.e., not all changes will have specialist Project Managers assigned to them
Take accountability and responsibility for certain project deliverables, & where relevant assure the quality of work, in your area of accountability, that is produced by partners/internal delivery teams
As necessary, work hands-on, for example prototyping configuration in sandboxes
Work with technical teams in the design of customizations, for example ABAP programs
Assure that requirements are realized by contribution to the test phase - the form of this contribution will vary according to the scale of project and change
Work proactively in Sandbox environments to attain and maintain a deep understanding of the application, to evaluate new functionality as provided in new releases of the application and to prototype and demonstrate new and existing functionalities of the application
Ensure solutions/changes are being delivered as per business expectations
Ensure all documentation is accurate and current: functional specs, technical specs, process documents, test scripts (IT and regression) etc and that the validated status of the solutions is maintained for all changes
Required Skills and experience
Good understanding of business processes in the life sciences / pharmaceutical domain
Solid grasp of SAP ATTP module both configuration and process, and good understanding of the integration of SAP modules in end-to-end business processes
Exposure to integrations with non-SAP systems
Confirmed technical background with understanding and/or hands-on experience in software development
Knowledge of multi-source SAP BW systems in your domain
Ability to understand business requirements and assist in the development of detailed requirements and prepare and review Functional Specifications.
Experience of various Estimation Techniques.
Excellent customer facing and internal communication skills and the ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels, including senior IT and business colleagues.
Proven interpersonal skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills.
Experience in regulated environments and specific knowledge of GXP requirements.
Experience working in a globally distributed team within a matrix structure.
Strong proven grasp of Microsoft Office products, including but not limited to Excel, Word, Project and PowerPoint.
Working Knowledge of SAP Solution Manager and an understanding of ITIL processes and Application life cycle management
Desirable Skills and experience
Hands on experience and/or SAP Certification in SAP ATTP modules
Project Management and/or Lean qualifications
