Strong Enterprise Architecture is the cornerstone of our Digital Transformation and fundamental to delivering on our AZ Ambitions and IT2025 Strategy. As a Senior EA you will be responsible for defining a world class Patient Centric architecture to meet the current and future needs of AstraZeneca and our broader ecosystem. You will lead the definition and ongoing evolution of our global platforms which support Patient access and support developing enterprise wide target state architecture, identifying innovative solutions, laying out the technology roadmap and supporting implementation projects.

ABOUT THE ROLE?

What you’ll do

The Senior Enterprise Architect will ensure that Patient, Medical and Market access architecture supports both business and IT strategy, and are aligned with relevant AZ architecture standards, blueprints and roadmaps. The role will assess and review the work of both Enterprise and Solution architecture and create a balance between the immediate and the strategic

In particular the role will:

  • Lead the effort to ensure that common architecture decisions support the business and IS strategy, and that the architectures delivered are aligned with relevant AZ architecture standards, blueprints and roadmaps.
  • Participate in Architecture Assessments & Reviews either as Lead Reviewing Architect or as a Subject Matter Expert in the review team.
  • Contribute to the development of the Architecture Capability within IS, by documenting and sharing knowledge and standard methodologies with peer Architects
  • Be accountable for the development of architecture standards, technology domain strategies, roadmaps and blueprints for Patient, Medical and Market Access areas
  • Understand implications of IT architecture requirements to ‘As-Is’ architectures and define/update ‘To-Be’ architectures applying AZ architecture guiding principles.
  • Support solution development efforts originating from portfolios, participate in IT initiatives and provide active guidance and value for better planning and decision making.
  • Maintain a view of the current and future state (1-5 years) architecture within a defined architecture focus area.
  • Develop Architecture Building Blocks to support implementation of Enterprise Architecture in the specific area.
  • Lead and/or provide active participation in Enterprise domain teams and working groups applicable to domain accountability.

Education, Qualifications, Skills and Experience

Essential

  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent number of years of experience in a Computer Science related field
  • The role holder will possess a blend of Enterprise and Solution architecture skills
  • Extensive experience of CRM, Web , Analytics and Integration technologies
  • Able to contribute to Commercial Enterprise architecture strategic vision and planning
  • Experience in known industry architectural patterns and reference architectures
  • Understanding the appropriate technology based on business use case
  • Experience in Agile definition scrums
  • Extensive-experience in a Enterprise architect role with practical examples of designing and providing architecture blueprints and roadmaps that have been pragmatically and actually implemented

Desirable

  • Experience of Salesforce Health Cloud
  • Experience of working in a Global Health Care or Pharmaceutical company
