Head of EDO IT Data Enablement - Join a Transformative Journey in Technology!

As part of our newly established Enterprise Data Office (EDO), you'll be responsible for providing enterprise technology services that support data governance across AstraZeneca. You'll work closely with multiple data leadership roles across IT and the business, including Enterprise Data Office leadership, SET Area Data Office leadership, and Architecture Leadership. Leading a team of over 50 engineers, you'll deliver and run data enablement services while partnering with technology suppliers to ensure optimal service and aligned roadmaps.
Our Macclesfield-based role involves:
- Providing strategic direction to teams of Data, Software, and Application Engineers
- Delivering robust, cost-effective, timely, automated solutions to support data governance processes
- Developing roadmaps of data governance services in collaboration with data offices and architecture
- Building business/investment cases for new technical capability investments
- Ensuring technical solutions fit requirements and maintaining high-quality application/engineering delivery & maintenance standards
- Directing testing and quality assurance of new solutions
- Leading multiple teams of data and software engineers, both onshore and offshore
- Managing relationships with key suppliers
To excel in this role, you'll need:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science or Data Management related field
- 8+ years of experience in a data/software engineering role
- Demonstratable managerial experience in matrix and international settings
- Experience working closely with Data Governance leaders in an industrial setting
- Proficiency in data engineer techniques, testing methodologies, data governance technologies, and data/application design patterns
