What you’ll do
As the Group FP&A Manager, you will play a key role in Group reporting and in-year planning processes, driving central understanding and insight to inform decision making. This role offers visibility across the full AZ Group, whilst adding real business value through scenario planning and working with senior management to help ensure we deliver against our external financial guidance, all the while offering unique opportunities to engage with colleagues across all areas of Finance, including Commercial, Non-Commercial and Group Finance.
Responsibilities:
The role reports to the Group Finance –Business Performance Director and will primarily be responsible for:
- Supporting delivery of monthly, quarterly and yearly management reporting for the AZ Group. This includes monthly revenue reporting and performance pack for SET, mid-month revenue forecasts and quarterly P&L Outturns.
- Support the Business Performance team in the preparation of various presentations to senior audiences (Senior Management, including CFO & CEO, and AZ Board).
- Ownership of submission process for in-year forecasts on Group Applications (Hyperion Planning), involving coordination with the multiple teams involved, such as commercial finance units teams, commercial reporting teams, IT finance engagement teams and technical data teams amongst others.
- Analysing the resulting forecasts, leveraging data analytical tools to help drive understanding and evaluation of key business drivers for AZ Group. Support in the preparation of high-impact materials for Senior Management & Board reviews.
- Deliver various month-end activities, requiring strong analytical skills, flexibility and the ability to critically interrogate data from multiple systems to meet reporting deadlines. Work with multiple teams to ensure accuracy and robustness of actuals data in Group Applications.
- Help drive forward the Business Performance team’s simplification and standardisation agenda, by continuing the automation of existing management reporting and, via the utilisation of data visualisation and analytical tools, to design the next generation of reporting deliverables.
- Support critical year on year transition processes such as Boundary Changes and PY Restatement.
- Manage a range of ad-hoc requests concerning in-year performance and in-year forecasting.
Education, Qualifications, Skills and Experience
Essential for the Role:
- Experienced and comfortable with multi-system environments
- Very strong systems skills, including knowledge and experience of working with Hyperion Planning, including SmartView.
- Problem solving skills, ability to identify root causes and propose or implement robust solutions
- Attention to detail and commitment to high quality and reliability of deliverables.
- ‘Right the first time’ mindset
- Able to connect and develop a strong working relationship across various teams (ranging from technical accounting and IT teams to commercial and non-commercial finance business partners across the AZ Group)
- Proactive and delivery focused, comfortable working in a dynamic, challenging environment, able to work independently (i.e. with limited guidance) and under tight timelines
- Experienced in commercial finance or FP&A type role
- Analytical Finance Professional with the ability to deliver succinct, high impact briefing material suitable for C-Suite level audiences.
- Enjoys working closely to senior management, learning about the strategic management of the company and has the ability to support their decision making.
- Able to effectively assist and collaborate with the wider Group Planning & Business Performance Team and comfortable ‘switching gears’ between various tasks/responsibilities
Desirable for the Role:
- Prior experience in Regional or Group environment a plus.
- Advanced Microsoft PowerApps, Excel & PowerPoint skills a plus
